EDIT: This is only true for one of my characters...? Something ate two bag pages.
Yes it's just an upside down version of the consumables icon. I plan to have a custom icon for it, one that is better, but I'm no artist, so I need some help creating a nice one.
My gems disappeared. Also when I tried to learn a spell, my spell was consumed and then poof. Not in the spell slot, nor could I hotkey it. It was just gone.
Did you build this mod with the vanilla UI?
I just tried learning a spell and it worked fine. No issue. The spell went into the spell slot as it should.
For the gems missing, try to look in the third page of the gem bag. If you sort the inventory, gems end up in the last slots, due to how the sorting works in-game.
I'll see if I can get the mod to break on another PC and figure out why some have issues.
So, the gems did go to page 3. I didn't think to look.
I bought an Adventuring 1 spell from the general goods vendor. Right clicked, went to the spell slot no problem. I dunno why the other spell dissapeared. The spell that disapeared was Summon Archers 1. One is castable the other isn't, but idk, we'll see if it happens again.
So, that leaves the Socketables button. The default button is as described above, the mouse over (highlighted) button is slightly different, the colors change. I've played T2 a lot, but could not figure out where in the UI those boxes were. Then I realized just a bit ago, they seem to be the inventory item borders. The colors were for rarity. Also, the third button state, which is the tab acutally selected, changes to a purple texture, x-axis mirrored. It looks like a nether texture to me.
Ponder that I guess. :D
If I move gems from the inventory the button gets a black bar across the texture. Noticed this just now.
Also...when I was allocating stat points I noticed my strength stat was at 0. I put a point into strength and it went back to normal. I hadn't put any points in strength yet, but had put points in all other stats. The other stats were also modified by my gear, strength was not.
I had done some skill respec prior to noticing this, but couldn't say if it was a direct effect. Not stats, just skills.
A ways back it seems like there was a mod that had similar texture issues with the UI, but its been so long ago, I don't remember what mod it was.
I'm suspecting that the graphical issues are with something outside of the mod on the system (Windows) itself, like drivers, or some other issue. Can you try verifying the game files for Torchlight 2 and see if that makes any difference?
Here's a guide on how to do that: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335

I've played around with the following graphic options to try to remedy this:
* Fullscreen/Windowed/Windowed Borderless (Fullscreen at 1920x1080, Windowed at 1600x900)
* UI Scale
* Hardware Skinning
* Center UI Globes
I'm using mod version 82, and TL2 version 1.25.5.6.
No other mods are used.
I hope this can help. :)
I've verified the install. This is a recent install as well on a new drive. I never extracted the game files or installed any loose file mods anywhere. That doesn't entirely rule out corrupted files however.
I wonder if the file structure is somehow different for extracted files vs standard installs.
The only thing that I can think of that would cause the textures to behave in this way is an incorrect file path. Its not a missing texture or a corrupt texture, its just the wrong texture.
Right?
You might be on to something here. I'll keep this in mind when I test this on a secondary system. I tried removing (renaming) my MEDIA folder where GUTS extracts all the game files, but the icon was still there when I tested the game.
I have trippel checked the file paths, they're all correct. If they weren't the issue would be across all installs, including my own.
This is a hard one to figure out. There's no obvious reason for the glitch. Also I don't know how frequent this issue occurs. There are close to 1000 subscribers to this mod now and if it was a very common, I would think there would be a lot more reports about it.
Maybe I did something wrong when converting the image to DDS format, or that your system is missing something which I have on mine. Like an "image codec" or similar. IDK...
Edit: I even tried it with just your mod and it was still the same problem sadly. of no gems able to be used/gem inventory being broken badly.
