(OUTDATED) Star Wars Fractal Ships FIXED 2.1+
Ship not showing up in ship selection? Look here
Due to the fact I don't actually own the game (It's shared between me and my brother; he's the one that actually owns it), I can't create a comment on the comment section of this mod; hence why I'm creating a discussion topic. If you don't want to read this text wall, just scroll all the way down to the TL;DR.

You lazy bundle of sticks.

Now then, back to answering the main question at hand:
"Why can't I find the ships in the ship selection screen when I go create a new empire?".

Well, it's rather quite simple, it's not a Shipset.
The original creator of the mod, which was created by the steam user who (Currently) goes by the name of "Elratie" made the way of getting said ships through completing a special project after researching the techs provided by the mod.

Originally posted by Elratie:
After you researched Spaceport 3/6 and 25/35/50 years into the game, techs can appear, these techs will trigger event chains, that will give you after a certain time special projects. After completing the special projects the ships will appear near your capital planet.

The special projects appears every now and then but after hitting a certain ship count the time will increase for the projects to appear. If you lose the ships, the time for the project will decrease and appear more often again.

From what I understand what Elratie has written on the original mod page, after researching the Starhold technology, and after a certain amount of time has elapsed in game,
the technologies which were added by the mod, the Fractal Fulgor Pursuit Frigate, the Fractal Kontos Star Frigate, and the Fractal Star Destroyer, will appear; and after researching one (Or all of them for that matter) of the technolog(y/ies) provided by the mod, it will appear in the situation log.

(For me, I had to wait a bit for it to actually appear in my situation log, and due to the fact I didn't time/pay attention to the time it took for it to appear in the situation log, I don't actually know how long it took, but oh well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

Once it's appeared in the situation log, you can research it in there and after it's completed, a ship of what ever you researched in the situation log will appear near your capital planet. The time it takes for the situation log "Event" to reappear is proportianal to the ship count; if your ship count is Too Damn High![imgflip.com], it'll take more time for it to reappear than if you barely have any ships.

Hopefully this has cleared any confusion

TL;DR It's not a Shipset.
