SUGGESTION: Other Factions Also Expand
Hi, not sure if this is a feature already, but is it possible for the other factions to expand across the map as well? Not just the pirates.

Perhaps to keep the bloat down, give options to limit the extent of the expansion, limit it to only hostile/friendly factions etc

Again, if this is already a feature, I apologise for the superflous suggestion hahaha!

I don't see a lot of meaning in it. Pirates will send extortion demands based on their amount of outposts/bases, so there's a reason to the bloat. Whether or not the outposts near you are pirates or otherwise hostile, there's not a lot of difference. With that in mind, I'll stick to a single enemy.

Expanding Friendlies has a downside from a game balance perspective: it makes caravan trading way easier and in my opinion that'll make MFI's impact too invasive.
Thanks for the reply! I was thinking more along the lines of factions with negative relationships expanding.

For example, say I play as a Dwarf race from the LotR mod. The nearby Elf faction has become hostile to me. I would like them to expand and pose a more significant threat as the game progresses. This cannot be done as they are a mod-added race. At least, that's how I understand things work right now.

Whatever the case is, thanks for the great mod! It added so much to my playthroughs

Its seems some factions actually can spreads. For me, hostile Android faction from "Android tiers" also build outposts and upgrade them...

Any faction that isn't hidden, not defeated, hostile towards the player and a permanent enemy can spread.

In vanilla only one type of faction fulfills those criteria: pirates.

Ofcourse other mods can add their own stuf that fulfill those criteria. That's fine =)

Not a bad idea. Maybe also add a slider for their frequency.

I think that an option for non-pirate expansions are fantastic. The mod that adds the factions Security Force and Chaser Armada only spawns a few bases typically and the option to allow those factions to expand would make playthroughs a lot more cool since those factions still put up a fight late in the game whereas normal pirates typically don't. It is a bit of a selfish request coming from someone that has little to no idea how difficult it is to make these but the non-pirate expansion is something I had been thinking would be awesome for about two weeks in my current playthrough.

Maybe you can set a cap to the amount of settlements a friendly faction can have so they don't expand endlessly.

I would actually like to have that toggle option, I tend to do long playthroughs with multi-settlement(like 50+ individual settlements) games and the idea of competing for territory against other factions vanilla and modded interests me greatly, plus this could tie into the Faction war event with actual territorial expansion or something along those lines
