Maybe make them Craftable, as they aren't actual beings anyway. Maybe with elements, iron and obsidian. The blueprint could be either collected by figthing the Overseer or some kind of Alpha Defense Unit. Same procedure could be used, when adding the Attack Drone, if you plan for that

Yeah, but it's kind of farfetched though, it's a lot of work for it. I'd like to keep it more natural. However, if the devs do decide to implement a system for crafting the new Tek dinos in Extinction, then i might change it to that :)
+1 for this idea, I'm already hoping they do add the ability to craft the Tek Dinos in Extinction, or that some mod does this very thing eventually
You could create a "Tek Spawner" or a "Tek Cybertronics Station", which builds the Units(You could use the code from the cloning chamber to do that) and maybe acts as a control station, that can setup patrols or something. Maybe let the Units turn feral if the Controller is destroyed.
I hate to be a pill but we had these spawning on our server. Then you updated making a spawner necessary and I am not sure how to create the spawner. I may just be dull-headed but since we have another mod that already has a spawner (as well as some for other things), we will be removing this mod. We only doubled up because we liked the idea of a natural spawn.

For people who poo-poo'd the idea of a natural spawn: You accept the idea that people can be transported to an unknown world and left to die for sport or experimentation. You accept Aberration. You even accept Tek dinos naturally spaawning but it was simply just too much to accept that these could spawn naturally?

Never said, that i didn't accept it. But as the Ark Surfaces contain seemingly as little Tech as possible to keep the natural order, it seems stupid for the overseer to keep his Tek running around freely. Aberration is a damaged Ark, naturally you see things which shouldn't normally be found. If you break open a phone, you'll see things, which shouldn't be exposed

Also, i just asked. If the Programmer likes the idea, who are you to critize. Just ask for a light version. Or maybe the programmer can make a separate mod with the Spawner and all features. But you should ask, if you have complains, instead of Ranting, especially if you're asking for Help

At first i didn't like it, but then i tested in the devkit, and added the same particle effects and sounds to when the Overseer spawns them in the boss arena, it was pretty cool. Plus, it makes it more balanced, and a lot riskier. You might spend a lot of materials just to get one good Defense Unit in a high lvl. Go in and try the spawner, i instantly fell in love once i added the effects.

Also them being spawned in, is more true to how the real Defense Units appear in the boss arena. Beam of light crashing down into the ground, and it appears.

Accuser, I am a person who was using this mod. Just the same as you. I have the same right to criticize the mod as you guys. Whatever ranting you see is in your head. I am not asking for help because I do not need it. There are at least 2 other mods that have it that work.

I am merely giving the author feedback. Everything that you have challenged me with was something you and the others could have done. You could have asked for a seperate mod as well.

The difference between you and me is that I was already using it the way it was created. You wanted changes presumably in part because you wanted it to be your way without even exerting the effort to find a similar mod that worked the way you wanted let alone to get in the dev kit and create what you wanted. Get your head out of your butt please. It doesn't smell nearly as rosey in there as you think.
By the way @Trollphan, I am not upset with you. Just letting you know that we won't be using it because we have other mods that will do the same. The uniqueness of your mod is gone sadly. I wish you well in future endeavours.

@Verawynds Np, i just made it spawnable simply because it felt so easy to get when it spawned naturally in the world. Besides, it's no typical spawner, most other spawners that i've seen spawns in a lvl 1 already tamed creature, while this one spawns in a Wild Defense Unit at a random level based on the difficulty setting. So basically instead of looking all over the map for one, you just spend resources and chance into getting it.

@Verawynds Besides, don't loose faith yet, if i'm able to figure out how Game.ini commands work, i can make a setting that allows them to set wether to spawn in the wild or not.

Sorry if i came off offensive, but to me it seemed like you ranted, because we made the Programmer change it. Originally, i just wanted to start a discussion, if letting them naturally spawn or building them is better. And if, which features would be best
@Verawynds I sent you a friend request - you can easily make them spawn in the wild again and disable the spawner with minimal configuration, I can help with that.
And now I've just gone ahead and created a thread with the instructions, since I see other people preferred the old way as well. There's no need to weigh down the mod with configuration for something Ark already allows you to configure easily.

since extinction brought about the concept of tek creature crafting with the enforcers and the scouts, any chance you could work that system into this mod? it would make playing on extinction a bit more interesting if we could craft the defense unit as well.

if you do this @Trollphan, i highly recommend making sure they keep their damage bonus against corrupted creatures, as that would keep this mod in line with regular defense units.
