It's about time i break character for a bit to explain why Mr. Smiley is the way he is and why he's so special amongst the other "giv me likes for acheivement" Gmod dupes.

Mr. Smiley isn't, and has never been, about the dupe itself. It's about it's workshop page, it's about the Mr. Smiley lore, it's about the community in a way.

Everyone is entitled to their own opionion and they can value what they want to value in a dupe. And i believe in this heavily. If you think Mr. Smiley is "over-hyped". So beat it. There's still the 1,000 or so other people who believe otherwise.

Recently a comment goer left a comment saying that exact thing, my friend then reacted by going to their most current dupe and calling it ♥♥♥♥♥♥. I did NOT encourage him or condone this behavior. Infact when i found out about this i told him to take his comment down. (Hence why it's not there anymore)

That comment goer most likely was just going with the "Meta" and expecting the dupe itself to be superb. And like i said before, Mr. Smiley isn't about the dupe itself. Hence why he thought the dupe was trash. And my friends comments certainly didn't help the matter.

I'll admit, i have my own opionion on the whole comment situation and it is one against the commenter but that's ok, because like i said everyone is entitled to their own opionion and they can value what they want to value in a dupe.


Like the title suggests, DON'T take this as Mr. Smiley saying all this and DON'T take this as canon! This is just me talking about Mr. Smiley and the comment situation. Thanks for reading. ~Crigence
