New Monster Ideas/Mechanics?
I've really enjoyed myself making new monsters for DD. I've got a ton of ideas for monsters (already started on a new mod with Sporozowen), but having outside ideas or opinions is always a good idea. I'd love to see any monsters or mechanics that you guys have thought up. Know not every idea may work, there are limitations to darkest dungeon's effects and buffs. If your idea is fleshed out enough, I'd love to make one of your creations come to life as a mod.

How about some sort of disease-based corpse miniboss who gives the party 18 diseases by the end of the battle?

How about a new miniboss ,who can be summon from Hoozen shrew ( Courtyard's curios , which looks like a poor Esquaer in green jacket)?

For now I don't have ideas, but I love this kind of "summonable" optional boss. They can be made really hard because it's up to the players to decide if they want to risk fighting it, just like the Shambler

is it possible that you start a big mod that has its own themed area including enemies events and bosses? really far fetched, but i would love to know if there was a possibility.
for my ideas of bosses you can mod into the game, how about a giant spiderlike boss, sort of like a daddy longleggs. it would be 2-3 spaces big with stealth mechanics, when he enters stealth the animation should change to him raised up with only his skinny legs down. if you do decide to make him, make him as ugly and creepy as possible, human face and a giant grin across his face.
Look up Kingdom death: Monster Spidicules, for how i imagne how he looks like.

@Chaosangel209 This is a secret, but the new mod Sporozowen and I have already started to flesh out and work on something that will be similar to what you described. The Giant Spider is a cool idea tho, but stealth on bosses can be hard to balance. I'm sure we could find a way to make it work. Might need to come up with a few more ideas for moves (think dmg, (high/med/low/none), effects (blight/bleed/debuff/etc.), what the sprite would look like while attacking, etc you get the general ida).

@Vrass Yeah it is much easier to balance out encounters because the player can choose whether or not to fight them, plus it rules out rng.

@[______] Hmmm Idk about that, the hooded shrew worked well because we had a good idea for the theme. Plus I think one summonable miniboss is enough for the courtyard for now. Maybe in the far future?

@School Shooter on the Computer That sounds interesting, but the max diseases you can have is 3 and if you have crimson curse you are immune to other diseases. Plus since diseases can't be removed until the end of the quest in most cases, it would be very unbalanced

It is possible (Look at the upcoming Moonlit Dungeon) but doing such thing is increadibly hard and time consuming. even much harder when is only one person working on it.

It's sorta the point that he damages the run, so you make him into a summonable one which means he is optional. Really the idea was just that he was an indirect threat, not being very strong in battle but harming the rest of the run and requiring good heroes be treated afterwards.

ok for the spider boss, i think that it would be fun for there to be a unique web trap the party can encounter, if they fall for it or fail to disarm it, then the spider would pop up with the party starting with a stun. i think it should have loads of health with weak damage over time attacks, and a special debuff where it implants a hero with eggs, and if the hero dies while having the debuff, the spider gets little minions. the thing is that it should be a very easy fight, with the potential of getting supper intense and difficult when you encounter it at the end of the dungeon.

Also, if you ever want to make a new character, i alway had an idea of some sort of a mushroom knight, he would have some standard attacks and buffs and debuffs. Mostly a below avarage unit in the roster like the antiquerian, but where he would shine is that he would be able to harvest a special item, Mushrooms, these iteams would carry on from mission to mission like blood or crystals. the mushrooms would have synergy with his moves buffing him up and changing the play style. one of the uses of the mushrooms would be that he plants one on a corpse, and if a character has died, a unique mushroom zombie would spawn to help you for 1 battle.

More Crimson Court-based monsters would be nice...
