Backup Backpack

Suggested Stats, Opinion, and Feedback.
+ Refills Clip on Kill
+ Refills 50% Ammo on Kill
+ Ammo Packs gives +50% Metal.

Fills the Secondary Slot for Soldier, Heavy and Engineer, as it is intended to be only used by those classes.

--------------------

If used for other non-intended classes :
Fills the Secondary Slot for Scout / Pyro / Demo / Sniper
Fills the Sapper or Disguise Slot for Spy
However, I don't really see any use for Medic, so eh.

--------------------

Those stats can have a great alchemy with Heavy's playstyle since he can run out of ammo pretty fast, which would make this item far more useful statistically than the Ammo Reserv, but it would also find great use for the Soldier since he can get on a continuous rampage if he's able to optimize his damage output properly (Even though he sacrifices a banner or a shotgun for it, so it's kinda hit or miss depending of how skilled you are), and for the Engie, he could sacrifice some security for more efficiency since he can upgrade his buildings and repair them far more better just by taking some risks.

So basically, it's great for pocket Heavies (even if Roamers can also find their place with this item), great for experienced Soldiers, and great for experienced Engies, but it's far from being broken.

This item deserves to be added, and thus for the sole reason that it is a one-of-kind item that is unique in usage, statistics, and provided playstyle and advantages.

great idea expect for spy I think that it should fill disguise kit slot because if a spy can't destroy
a sentry it will be an incredible downside

That does make sense, but tbh, I doubt that if this weapon makes the cut, it actually will be equippable for classes other than Soldier, Heavy or Engie since those are the only 3 characters that were intended to be able to use this wep to begin with.

Still added tho in case for lel

I feel like its a good idea for the simple fact of it as extraa ammo, though the refill ammo sounds good. Could only could if wanted to be like the gas passer recharge/machanics of "deploying" it.

I think it could be interesting if it was for engineer and it was like this
+You and your surronding team mates gain ammo and health over time
+[Something]% less ammo capacity
+You cannot build dispensers
or something like that, the main point is it replaces dispensers and rewards you for not camping by helping your team, it would be amazing with the mini sentry

I like that Idea for Engi! But maybe we could make a seperate item for that? Oooh! Like a mini Dispenser on your back! ( I know there's already a cosmetic that looks like that )

I don't really see a reason for this to be added, because you already get medium ammo kits from dead corpses, and i'm sure that soldiers and heavys would have enough time to run out grab some ammo from their victims and then keep on fighting, and for engineers they could just quickly run out and grab some metal from dead corpses and then run back to their nest. I'm a heavy main myself and when I run out of ammo I either run out and grab some ammo, or fall back if it looks too dangerous, and those medium ammo kits help out alot, if I run out and grab some ammo from those corpses I instently get all my ammo back in a second. So I don't want this to be in the game, because it already exists with the ammo kits from dead corpses.

I could argue though Mr. Silver that if you are performing very well, you can consistently fire your primary weapon without even having to worry about reloading it or refilling it, which is something that no ammo pack can do.

Also, that does mean that you can let your fellow teammates pick the ammo packs you then don't really need to pick anymore, which is good for teamplay.

TL:DR Those stats helps the player out to have sustained usage of his primary and buildings, all that while sacrificing a secondary weapon that could help deal various kind of damage and/or combos to your opponent.

Well... as a veteran Pyro player I do know it's frustrating to play against Heavies, and I wouldn't like if their clips would refill upon killing, not like that happens often. Soldiers would be way worse with that stat though. I think the cozy camper like method would be nice.

So for example instead of more ammo it could be a static ammo/metal refill over time. Additional stats could be knockback reduction just like on the cozy camper, but it wouldn't have the flinch elimination.

Also I wouldn't really add it to Heavy, they can pickup fallen ammo cases easily. But soldiers often eliminate targets from a partifcular distance/during rocket jumps. Making them unable to rely on fallen boxes.

Engineer have superb needs for this. It could eliminate the need to build on terrible chokepoints that cannot be defended.

It seems a bit useless for Sniper (It would save like, to seconds of running to an ammo kit, if you even run out of ammo anyway), Spy (especially since you'd have to sacrifice vital parts of his kit to actually use it), Medic (Hardly uses ammunition + no place to put it). So, basically, the supports. For classes like scout and pyro, their play style is so in your face, if they are firing, they would already get their ammo on kill, making it useless as well. If it replaced demo's stickie bombs and not his grenade launcher I'd see it being good as well (But maybe that's because I just hate sticky spam so that might be a bit biased). But it's a great idea!

No stats, just a cosmetic. That's how I'd like it.

Basically turning engineer into a walking dispenser?
I like this idea.
The idea is interesting but the fact is that for most classes it would not be useful. I can't remember the last time I ran out of ammo, and ammo management in itself is a useful skill. Not that running out of ammo never happens, its just not worth giving up a weapon slot just incase you happen to run out of ammo. I don't think there's any class that would give up a weapon slot in order to just have more ammo when they can already easily pick it up from spawns or killed players. If it was an engi only item i could see it working as a good option for aggressive engineers who don't want to or can't set up dispensers in exchange for less firepower. As for any other class, it just really isn't worth it when you can not run out of ammo by management or just dying before you could possibly run out usually. Anything centered around the engi would definitely be interesting such as the mobile dispenser idea giving it to his teammates.

Perhaps these stats:

+50% max ammo (if engineer, also +50% max metal)
+1 ammo generated per second (if engineer, also +1 metal per second)
Enemies drop an extra small ammo box on death (from kills and assists)

takes up the secondary slot on soldier/heavy/engineer (not available to other classes)
(shotguns for soldier/heavy / pistol for engi)

Taking the secondary slot is a massive debuff in itself, so combining the 3 buffs makes it a worthwhile trade, allowing you to basically constantly have ammo as long as you're actively fighting as heavy/soldier, and allowing you to build your buildings much quicker and easier as engineer, perhaps opening up more places to set up that aren't near ammo kits, and potentially providing even more team support if you are an engineer by dropping extra ammo boxes from sentry kills/assists that your team can then pick up.
I feel like it'd be much better on soldier/engi than heavy, considering soldier is more likely to actively run out of ammo from rocket jumping along with fighting, and engi can kind of give some extra team support with the extra ammo kits along with building his buildings easier and/or faster, but heavy could benefit off of this as well, although, I doubt it'd be used over the sandvich or banana, i still like having it as an option - especially since it was designed as being for the heavy alongside soldier/engi.

Well, I mean, if you look at what happened with the Hazmat Headcase, the backpacks for the other classes might very well be added. Just a thought, though.

It will if it is added as a cosmetic, not a wep.
But that would be missed potential then.
