Um... I'm not 100% sure to know your point about the thematic of warframes, but if by that you mean that it doesn't suit the global design, and / or the art direction of Warframe... Well, this is where i'll say that you're wrong. At the opposite, it's a very good point, and a very important thing, to extend the art style and thematics with such creations ! Let me give you my point of view :


In the base game, we have the archwings, devices created to allow the warframes to fight in the air and space. Civilians and soldiers who witnessed them on the battlefield in the old days called them golden angels ( if I remember the lore of mag prime )... But, we also have frames like Nekros prime, with his pair of broken, ripped wings, evocating a fallen angel, a vision of doom and horror... And more recently, the Nosos syandana of Nidus Phryke ( which seems to be like a grineer word for "Freak".... how fitting is it ! XD ).

All that to say : syandanas are part of a powerfull symbol once wear by a frame... not only is it part of its design, completing it, but it also brings an impact on a battlefield, a meaning ( lorewise, primed syandanas with their descriptions allow such explenation ). Wings can easely be part of it, and thus, under different forms : Being mechanical, organical, ornemental, or even a simple jetpack... hell, some of them are already accpected by DE at the very moment I write those words. And keep in mind that, in Warframe, its not an eastern culture only : we have plenty more that currently fit in : Egyptian, European, Celtic, pop culture... even HP lovecraft joined the mytology of warframe ( in some degree, the great man itself or his creations are not named... but you can feel the vibes and inspirations for one or two specific caracters at least... no spoil, just in case XD )


Now, about the size of the wings, which is the only concern we can have right now with this design... Well, thanks to a recent update of the Creator, we can see a comparison, side by side, of his wings and the Nosos syandana, in different poses... And I can say that it will not be that much of an issue. Yes, they are massive, and DE will surely test it with their own simulations and different angles before accepting it ( seeing if there's some problems with different animations, like reloading, being downed, and the rest. ). But not as much troublesome as we could imagine.

Finally... yes. All the syandanas are not made to fit on everything, this is why there is Fashion Frame, to test different mix of armor set and syandanas, colors paterns, ect... to finally find your style. I'm sure that this syandana would have some hard time to feet on a bulky frame like chroma, more specifically with its deluxe skin. But that doesn't mean that the syandana should not be accepted as well... and you can only be sure if you test it by yourself.

As long as the game is still playable with such cosmetics ; as long as it doens't transgress rules / policy of DE, or genreal copyrights ( haven't heard of any problem like that so far, but still can always be a problem ) this syandana have all rights to be part of the game. And finally, the last argument that is universal : if you don't like it for your own gameplay, there's no obligation to buy it... just pass to another syandana that fit more your taste. ^^

Wings are just too strange of an object to place onto suits designed to be ninjas. They are stretching it thin with the wing stuff we currently have. This design is something else entirely. Wings conflict with the style of the characters. Warframe is a sci-fi universe, not Dungeons & Dragons fantasy.

These wings have a very limited matchup with other frames. I wouldn't even put these on Chroma, and I main Chroma. I love wings, I really do. But I can never see them work in the Warframe universe. Maybe change the design to work with Archwing. I would love some Tennogen Archwing stuff.

Maybe it's not something we need for a syandana. Rather something we need for a warframe if people want to push wings so hard. Think Kerrigan from Starcraft. She uses her wings for weapons.

I wouldn't say giving an eastern dragon wings would pervert it at all. Just look at Hyorinmaru from Bleach. Wings galore, no problems there. You're not taking away the wingless dragons, simply because you create new winged ones.
I think wings on Warframes would look awesome! Obviously better on certain frames over others, depening on their style. Shadow-like wings for Ash, more angelic for Excalibur and Oberon, etc. and then there's simple subjective taste, some would like a thematic mix.

Finally, I'd say Warframe is sci-fantasy, not sci-fi. There are a lot of fantasy elements in the designs and styles. A lot of mixes from all over the world:
Modern through Octavia
Japanese through Ash
Greek through Atlas
Lovecraftian through Hydroid
Medieval through Excalibur.

The list of thematic inspirations goes on!
These wings look awesome and I'd love to have more such things. I'm personally a fan of angels and angelic/daemonic forms, so this is right up my alley! :)

Also, a Warframe centered around its wings would be epic!

You will not find very many winged Asian dragons now would you? Sure you could pervert that if you wanted to. But oriental dragons do not, should not have wings.

This is the case for Warframe. Not only could they obstruct vision being a third person shooter. But it also does not suit the art direction of the game. Wings suck to have when you perform parkour actions. So many opportunities to break, or tear them.

I have a 1920x1080 screen. Dynasty Chroma takes up 1/2 of it when I aim down the sights. And his back attachments don't even spread out.

I am a dragon in spirit, believe me. It would suck to have wings in Warframe.

With that aside, very nice work! I would love to see this elsewere. Maybe as part of a Zombie Dragon in Magic: The Gathering. Or some other fantasy world. Like maybe a game that doesn't demonize dragons. A game where dragons are part of it. All other games failed, and I failed to start a career to create one.

This sums up my opinion on wings 100%. They don't work with the warframes gameplay or theme. Most of warframes wings look fantastic and glorious, but we don't fly in this game. We jump, roll, slide and all of them together.

you are free to your opinion but its wrong in every single way. many syandanas are winged already, and I see alot of people rocking them well. also a couple of warframes DO fly, to an extent.

yall know revenan t is coming soon. wings will be fantastic for him.

Opinions are respected, but please don't put them as facts. Wings pretty much fit here, looking at the skin it's represented on i see no problem. You see nidus himself is a quite different frame as well, he literally stands out from all frames, and the last skin published by DE makes it even more noticeable, i mean look at the phryke skin, it's some infested warframe knight. Even though i agree that this syandana won't fit on all frames, i don't see a problem with that, every syandana got that problem the only one that works with almost every frame imo is repala, and there's really no one forcing you to purchase a syandana that you don't like.

Loving it, especially the wings and the size of 'em.

Jesus Christ wings are cool and they fit the game, its a syndaya for a reason, if you dont want to use it just dont.

This "it doesn't fit the theme" ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ needs to stop.it only stifles creativity and limits game content.
