Garry's Mod

Enhanced Faceposer

Flexes got messed up for some reason.
It might be with the March update but I can't say for sure, but some flexes are messed up. Some models still work fine but others have a bug where like... all of the flex sliders don't do anything, but if I go to the last flex slider at the bottom of the list, it seems to control EVERYTHING at once.

No idea why. Some of these models worked perfectly fine before. Is this a known issue?

Me too it's happening, again a proof that forced updates are the plague of computing.

Well when I got off the 64-bit branch and switched to main it got fixed.

Oh great.... I did switch to it too the next day of the update... I hope it will work again like you, thanks for your heads up...

I turned off the beta then turned it back on (I don't know if that makes a difference). but I launch in 32 bit mode and the flexes that were broken are now working, but flexes are still hard capped. Which kinda sucks, I would like to be able to pick and chose which flexes are disabled. I have not tried launching in 64 bit mode yet.

For anybody here that's been affected by this problem: Have you seen if the default faceposer tool has the same problems on the 64-bit branch, or is it just with the enhanced tool? Even before the March 2024 update I've had reports of flexes not working with this addon with no clear cause, so I'm not sure what to make of all this.

I've been on the 64-bit branch for years now and never had any issues, but the models I work with don't stray far from the flexes used on HL2 and L4D models. I've tested it with TF2 and other models in the past and never ran into an issue I couldn't replicate on the default tool, but things could've changed since I did those tests. I might have to rethink how this addon works if it ends up that theses issues are caused by the tool and not Gmod itself.

Update: Playing on the beta 64 bit version also messes with the ragdoll mover making it difficult to use. So until the beta catches up I am going to use the 32 bit version.

are you using x86-64 chromium 32 bit for this, just curious since it does this to me sometimes.

it seems like saves break it entirely, i figured it out when i was testing ragdolls, thats strange.

i submitted a request to facepunch, its broken when you use saves, hopefully i hear something back, since i get this when using the default faceposer too aswell with no mods.

I was until I tried to record a video in game. it would crash the game evey time I tried, so now I am running just the 32-bit version with out the 64-bit beta installed.

What's weird is the same is happening to ME, as well... but I don't have the addon. does anyone have a fix for this?

@juliusNstix i think its because when you have alot of ragdoll addons, it messes something up with the flexes somehow, i too have this issue.

It's true, I've had the same problem for a long time. I noticed that the error appeared when I placed a large number of ragdolls or when some models apparently used face positioning a lot. After the error appeared, only the last option worked. I need to restart the game and reduce the number of ragdolls and remove the most problematic ones. To this day I don't know what the problem is or how to solve it. I imagine it's something from Garry's Mod itself, as the game's standard tool has the same error.
