b) it works on my servers, so I'm not even sure how to debug this issue; maybe you have other mods that mess w/ TEK abilities? Genesis also disables TEK abilities, but to my knowledge it doesn't disable generators... (and even if it did, there's a simple way to turn them back on)

No we hav not another Tek mods. when we build a new generator we have this error. all on the server.
Spawn a new one in with console commands and see if that one gives you the error.
Have you managed to trace down the issue? I have been unable to replicate it ever, so I assume you've found some other reason it could've been failing?
If not, move the mod higher up the list. It shouldn't interfere with anything since it makes an entirely new entity - but maybe mechanics-modifying mods can break that, I don't know.
What you can do, however, is use the ghost command to go underground and place the generator there (it's what I do if I want it out-of-sight; you may need to have placement restrictions disabled for it to work). The range is technically a sphere, so by sinking it into the ground, you should be able to manage the radius (note: when you 'pulse' the range, it's actually broken and doesn't correspond to the actual range - never managed to fix that).
We really only have two tribes on our server; both friendly. The distance thing just caught me by surprise.
Invaluable mod, especially when you play across five different ARK worlds. Our whole team appreciates your work.
It also works well with other mods (I usually run between 45 and 60 mods on our cluster), though whether it works with stuff that brings its own generators/distributors - that's a mixed bag (for example, it works perfectly fine with CKF:SF stuff even without the power box, but with Dynamic Fences you still need to place distributors).
And my father likes to build stuff out of stone, glass and metal. You won't find Tek anything unless it's absolutely necessary to construct stuff (and even then, he'll place it, build crap, and then remove it - or just ask me to magic it in ;P). Being able to disable collisions and place it underground is essential for me. This also somewhat ties into the whole "big range" thing - if you go below ground with it, the area of effect above ground shrinks quite rapidly.
