Any chance to get the option to hack the mech shields?

I would love to use them again.

Maybe add a research that allows you to use a recipe which needs component that you can only get by deconstructing a shield and allows you to build a shield at the work bench, the shield would needs hacking maintenance because it would just turn off again otherwise. Maybe extend the time and the efficiency of the hack with upgrades to make it more stable or even permanent with rare ingredients like a vanometric power cell.
