you can craft long branch with a cutting tool and a log, but yeah this has been bugging the crap out of me as well literally no long branches in all of driftwood

I can't figure out how to make so many of the tools either. I'm in the hollow marches now, and I haven't seen a crafter's workbench or a scrapper's pickaxe yet, nor any recipes explaining how to make them. I hope it's not expected that I just google how to make them. I've tried just randomly banging objects together in hopes that they'll turn into a pick or a workbench, but... that seems so far to be tedious and hasn't worked.

So there is a "secret" area that has all the books in Fort Joy. But also just use the link in the mod page to see all them in a spreadsheet.

To find a long branch just keep checking all containers. You can also use a log on a sawmill to make them.

I'm at the logging camp, but I cannot figure out how you cut the log. There is a log to talk to that I understand is for a quest.
