Sharp Metal outside of Act 1?

My friends and I are using a mod to skip past Act 1 and we are in Reaper's Coast now. Pretty much everything is there, but no vendors sell pliers or sharp metal,and I've spent hours searching boxes, barrels, and chests. Is there a way to get it other than random chance in Reaper's Coast?

To clarify, I need a piece of sharp metal to make a scrapper's pickaxe and a corpse harvester, otherwise half the mod is inaccessable.
