I noticed these mods sneaking in by themselves without permission:
- all Vegetable Garden Mods (VGP)
- all Vanilla Expanded Mods
- Alien Framework 2.0
- Dubs Bad Hygiene seems to add itself from time to time too.
This is REALLY annoying, if you do not wish to have these mods installed / subscribed, but not active and you start a new and don't check the mod list first, if the addon sneaks in some mods without permission.
"Mod Manager will enable anything that has metadata "should be loaded after\before X"
on autosort."
So basically if a mod got 'this mod should be after/before X', then Mod Manager will put it in even if X is not activated or even installed.
And I did just say that it was to do with the mod indicating its own load order making the Mod Manager put the mentioned mods in, even if they are indicated as optional.
Open the program, add all the mods you require into "active mods" > click save THEN click sort. (It will warn you if you're missing dependencies) put those in, unless it's a mistake, for example, "Requires: JecsTools" but you have "JecsTools UNOFFICIAL". You can ignore that.
After sorting, click save again. Go to Rimworld, click mods and see if there are any incompatible mods (the exclamation mark triangle) as RimPy doesn't currently check for incompatibility.
Remove one of the incompatible mods if there are any, and close the Rimworld mod manager when there are no triangles left. (Don't sort from within Rimworld otherwise it will add the mods that aren't actually dependencies again).
Hope that's helpful and not too confusing. :)
PS: MAKE SURE YOU READ THE WHOLE DESCRIPTION OF RIMPY, you need to download the program, the workshop page is just a database that the program uses and is kept in inactive mods.
RimPy is really the bottom of the barrel of sorting tools.
If I had the time, I'd update my RWMS for 1.2 ..
I really have never had a good experience using this mod manager. The user interface is cramped and why it decides to enable mods that I never ever use is a mystery to me. I think I will unsubscribe from this since it causes more problems than it solves.
