So you are a british army soldier who was deployed in rural england alongside other troops, but then you split up, and you end up here, you try and uncover the gloomy and dreadful history of the area....

The mechanics would be like this you can pick a house to hide in, and you have a pistol which has a limited amount of rounds and ammo, you can also move around the map and hide out from house to house.

Monsters? Zombies because the neighbourhood you end up in was formerly a area that had a small infection which was covered up by the government to prevent nationwide panic and freakouts

Real plot or backstory?

Backstory would be that a para military group called the BDA (British Defence Army) is going on a rampage in england north and south, since this is happening the British Army was deployed and used to combat this paramilitary group.

Endings?

Endings can be chosen so there are 3 entry points that trigger an ending if you enter one.

So if you went through the sewer system you would get the bad ending, where you give up on surviving and die.

If you went through a broken wall that led into a house thats the good ending, in that ending you leave the suburbs and re unite with you're patrol.

The alternate ending is where you go through the gate in the countryside.

The ending is where you walk off into the countryside leaving the player clueless of the soldiers fate.

Any other characters?

There is a family in the house with the safe sign, when you first meet them they tell you how they dont know if the crisis in there area has ended or not, you can either pretend to take them prisoner and bring them to you're patrol (have to trigger the good ending first) and if you agree with everything they say, you get a Bren machine gun as a special weapon, you can also get the family killed by telling them they wont be shot if they go by themselves, later on in the game you can hear gunshots in the distance meaning they got shot and you also know that you're patrol is there.
