I have a world with lots of modded planets and being on any one of them and writing "/MES.GESAP" to console will result "Is On Planet: False" like it wouldn't detect the player is standing on a planet. Thanks to that the planetary spawns are not happening. To be fair one of the planets is 1200km diameter but others are 40-80km. They are the top rated planet mods on Steam Workshop not some obscure random ones.
