Possible Backstory

Before he got the symbiote, Eddie Brock was unknowingly infected with the Green Flu, and eventually the symptoms finally kicked in, turning Eddie into a hunter. The symbiote simultaneously bonded with both Brock and the Green Flu, and so it didn't cure Eddie before he turned.

The "Actual" main backstory is when hunter got the symbiote *Not Eddie*
