Report a translation problem
Maybe have hostile and neutral factions. Hostile being unable to tame (they would act as a seperate "species" so that they would war with other people) and neutral being able to tame. What I mean by tame is passive tame with tools, blueprints, and weapons. It would be like giving people gifts and they become "friends".
I like the idea about telling them to harvest a specific resource. It would be cool to see them rebel against their "masters" like say if you refused to give them a resource like food or adequit tools to work they would attack the user until you give it to them.
One thing really neat would be programing them to shoot at something. Say I wanted to tame a quetzal in single player. I could tell the NPC to shoot the quetz with tranqs until it goes out.
Yet another cool thing is if the NPC could take control of mounts and pick me up if I'm in trouble or we could both set out to kill a boss on bears or something. That would be too cool.
These are some ideas. No idea if they're realistic. Good luck with the mod!
The building tier for these could depend on the time the server has been running, maybe with options to set the progression speed; tier limitations, complexity of the structures and ratios with which they spawn equipped with tools and weapons.
permanently hostile ones would be neat too, as mentioned above.

@KitzOni: That's a great suggestion and I will give it some thought. I currently like where they are stats wise since it's pretty close to player characters. But I will think about someway to make em stand a chance on such mods!
@scalien_prime: I like that! Giving them a tool and based on that you get to choose what type of resource to go after, the tools melee damage% determines how much a node yields, It's now on my to do list!
I don't think I will be able to make the ankylo harvest tho, but I could probably make it follow the human around, and let the human dump the resources into the anky's inventory whenever his is 70%ish full.

@ToothedJaw: I like the idea about factions, how about several different in different colors, some friendly, some hostile but able to befriend and some straight out evil. Some kind of reputation system which will make them "Allied" to you overtime. I'll see if I can make it happen in the future, thank you!
@Apothep: Oh I would love buildings! I'm currently trying to decide how to make them. Either like the base game with multiple parts, or the one I'm leaning towards: A bunch of single structures each making up a house. Making different templates for different kinds of houses and then swap the tiers it sees fit.
I really like the idea about having the tiers upgrading based on something, I'll keep that in mind when I'm implementing it. Thank you very much!

@Blue Dragon Marine; Guns will be added later, and when it is it will include all the guns you can think of. However they will never spawn with guns or advanced equipment. Unless I add a ini option for that ofcourse hehe.
100% agree with this. I love that I can change their armor and weapons, make them ride dinos, and have them wander around. I really love that other Mod armors and clothes work on them too.
The only other thing that would be missing is adjustable ini settings. Say down the road you make it were they can build bases, it would just be great to have the ability to turn that on or off. Flexibility is the sexist thing a Mod can have.
This is a great NPC mod keep up they great work.
To tag onto the above structures idea some sniper towers or maybe some siege Equipment they can use would be pretty neat perhaps a special builder NPC that can produce these structures when tamed?
The idea of factions is really cool would you ever consider adding some "special" NPCs? say tribe leaders maybe named heros etc factions could perhaps have some sort of flag or "mark" that shows who they are aligned with ?
Great mod really cool stuff and seems to be one of the better executed NPC mods ieve seen!

ah howbout NOT an ini edit but have a simple IF clause detect either of those mods and give a buff to the stats of the NPC's to sute the mods detected. for any other .ini editing why can't their be an ingame option avalable from the Server control tab INGAME to make this accessable to Everyone?
as for my idea do they have the ability to Work the base upkeep? for example could I place a Flag in my base that sets a range (Similar to a feeding Traugh) that declairs that area as Base and they will be able to have a Job say
Farmer and they will gather poop from around the base and add it to compost bins (But not place Thatch in) and will give dung beetles poop to within 2lbs of their max whight and collect the oil & fertilizer store the oil in a storage box & fill any crop plots in the area, as well as Unload all dino's in the area store resources, sort blueprints into book cases, unload Raw metal into forges, and lastly fill feeding Traughs with food Except obscure foods like stone, sand, Sulfer, Chitin/Keratin, etc.
Cook to make Custom recipies by filling the cooking pot/Industrial cooker & turning it on then storeing the resulting food in the fridge.
Repairer that goes around & fixes Base Structures, and can be spoken to to see where disconected water pipes/power cables are.
A Gunner for Platform saddles to man the Gatling turrets / other manned modded turrets.
Lastly if you like this idea Please make it stackable with atleast Platform/Structures/pillars + Wooden Handing Bridge, Permanent, Levelable, Harvesting Titanosaur, and Upgraded Preserving bin.
