Mod Info
Hello all, I am Onixflame. I am the one providing descriptions for the new and old items, as well as most of the new icons for them. I will also be the one providing all the information about this overhaul so Jaster can keep on working on things and not have to worry about telling you all about everything as well. (So… Basically I’m the secretary for this mod. Welp.)

So now. let’s begin the info dump in earnest!

Changes from VWS: Overall stats have been revamped from the original mod. Most creatures are now stronger than what they were in the original mod, both in terms of health and damage. However, some creatures have been nerfed; the Vulture is an example. Its health and damage have been hit hard because of factors such as easily being able to murder the hell out of you.

Spinos no longer walk on their tip toes like a dorky sneaky Godzilla. They can also bite now while standing. Their claws do less damage but have more armor penetration and attack faster.

Rexes now do 80% armor piercing, and their melee damage has been increased. Along with their health. They also have the ability to destroy armor. So yeah. Don’t get up close.

While Alphas still exist, we will also be focusing on adding in new creatures by way of subspecies. One of the most common (and annoying) examples of such subspecies is the new Mapusaurus, who will make your life hell in the Grassland biomes. The Mapusaurus is a Rex class creature, a smaller Giganotosaurus that has a Pack Hunting system in place. Sort of like a compy, but much bigger. And will kill you. A lot. They have more health than a Rex does and do slightly more damage, but don’t have as much armor penetration.

As I’m sure those of you returning to the mod know, certain creatures also generate items in their inventory. You probably remember the trilobites and scorpions producing things in their inventory, with the trilobites producing sand, chitin and pearls while the scorpion produced narcotic? Well there are more creatures that produce things in their inventory now.

There is the Swamp Trilobite, which is a subspecies of the normal one. Like its sea-fairing cousins, this trilobite produces chitin in its inventory. However, it also produces clay and raw salt as well. You can tell them apart from normal trilos due to their location in the Ark and that they have a mostly green coloration.

The Dilo also produces things in its inventory now, as well as being given a revamped ability. Its spit now will tranquilize anything it hits, and they produce a special Dilo Toxin item in their body that can be used in replacement of narcotics.

Scorpions will soon gain a special item in the same vein known as Scorpion Toxin, which will be even stronger and used in some upcoming items.

Eurypterids also produce narcotics in their inventory currently but might have an item later on that will act Scorpion Toxin, with the same upcoming items alongside them.

Spiders and moths will also produce silk in their inventory in an upcoming patch sometime soon.

The new wild Honey Bee is roaming bee that doesn’t belong to a hive. These loners are a passive tame who love rare flowers, and they produce honey in their inventory. If you wanna make them veggie cakes, then these guys are invaluable!

Ants will do this as well in the future, but they will be special. You will have to put crop seeds in their inventory, along with thatch and feces. Over time they will produce for you crops, acting as a living crop plot of sorts. So having an iguanadon might be important with these little guys.

Also some other dinos have been changed or added in. The skin dinos of Stygimoloch, Styracosaurus and Brachiosaurus have been added. The Pachy and Stygi have both been made into mining dinos who gather the same things the Anky can gather. The Styrac is an even more powerful Trike and the Brachi is a Grand class creature who is incredibly strong and a very good wood gatherer.

Speaking of wood gathering, the Paracer has been made into a wood gatherer as well, and the Mammoth’s gathering for wood has been turned right up.

As for Grand creatures, the new Brachi is joined by the Titanosaur, Giga, Dragon, Broodmother, Megapithecus, Manticore. Dodorex, Death Worms, Reaper Queen, Rock Elemental, the Indom, Dodowyvern, Leeds, Mosa, Tuso and returning from Vanilla with Sprinkles, the reclassed and resized Megalodon. Other new Grand creatures include Glacial Basilisk, subspecies of the Dodorexes and Death Worms, and the new Tiger Rock Drake. All of these are tamable.

Since it’s been resized and reclassed, replacing the Megalodon as the menace of the ocean is the nearly exclusive (DAMN YOU GARUGA) speedy Xiaphactinus! You can passive tame these as well as knock out tame. Just be careful, you gotta wear a special repellent in order to make them not hostile, otherwise they’ll try to munch your glorious human booty.

Now, on to our new Aberration additions, the Reaper Kings no longer 95% of damage, and only resist 50% without Charge. Reaper Queens no longer resist 95% of damage as well, only resisting 60%. Nameless have finally gotten a name in this mode, being called Chupacabra. They also now only resist 25% damage as well. All of these critters are now weak to fire as well, so stock some flamethrowers and fire arrows! Or maybe get a creature that breathes fire on them.

There are now Tropical variants of the Bulbdog and Karkinos on the island! With the Bulbdog you can now have a shoulder mount on the island who can provide for you a light in the night so you can have a hand free. With the tropical Karkinos however… Well, let’s just say killing them will net you a tasty surprise. The same with all Karkinos and Eurypterids.

Titanoboa and Troodons have had their taming systems changed. Boas now are passive tames where you stick meat up their butts and Troodons are now knock out tames. No more annoying taming system for these two creatures.

Theris, Trikes and Styracs can no longer hit you while you’re on the back of your mount, so now you have no need to fear fighting them while riding a dino!

Finally, the most important things, the new Bag o’ Items! These items are made by stuffing things such as berries and meats into a bag you make, and these items will give more taming affinity than just the single item!

Normal food bags have have a times five increase in taming affinity, big bags have a times ten increase and huge bags give a times fifteen increase. Also, these bags will not hit affinity as hard, so going from big bags and up it’ll be better than kibble! Well, except for one drawback.

See, to get all of this? You need to use more and more food items in the creation of these bags. It’s not so bad for the first tier, but as you learn to upgrades you’ll notice they take more. So remember, you’re getting more affinity, but using more food to get such. It’s up to you if it’s a waste or not. For people who don’t like collecting dinos for kibble, then I think ya’ll won’t consider it to be too steep a price to pay.

And that’s it! If more is released, then this will be edited and updated. Good gaming everyone!

Some of the info we forgot to add do to irl.

Meganeura harvest spoiled meat from bodys if i recall.

Diamond Beetles can only be found in the islands snow cave(one with the yetis) Sadly most maps dont use that spawner file so they currently can only be found in there, same with the Frozen Reapers.

Diamond Beetles and Frozen Reapers can be tamed, they work different from other creatures, you need to kill tons of them, each one has a tiny chance to give you a special item that when used will give you the beetle. Frozen Reapers item when used will impregnate the player, you will need to kill things to to get xp for tha baby. Diamond Beetles convert certain meats into rare items overtime!
