Time Travellers Expansion
Hello again!

When I was working on the Lunar Capital expansion, at the time I was also drafting ideas for a mission tree for the Time Travellers. Recently, I've had some spare time, and so I've thought about fleshing out my ideas and talking about interesting directions I see for the nation.

MISSIONS
As a nation focused on highly intellectual pursuits as well as a theme of religious archeology, Time Travellers have the opportunity to have a mission tree that sees them conquering a path towards Rome while doing a little bit of "religious tourism". A standard opening mission sequence will see them taking Meira's Dojo early on, then securing an alliance with Kappapolis, a similar technologically-focused nation. From there, they have three routes of expansion.

THE PILGRIMAGE
The first route available involves working their way towards Rome while capturing the other four holy sites along the way. Their missions will have them island hopping from Japan, to Singapore, to Ceylon, and finally, the Horn of Africa, before taking Mecca, Jerusalem and finally Rome, completing their Pilgrimage and granting permanent bonuses similar to high tier defender of the faith. While securing the route for this pilgrimage, there will be side missions at each step, where you can gain land in Confucian Korea, Animist Philipines, Hindu India, and Fetishist Zimbabwe. Additionally, there's also opportunities to visit historical locations of knowledge: The ruins of the Library of Alexandria, the philosophical hub at the city of Athens, one of the earliest universities at Paris, and the meeting point of Christian and Islamic knowledge at the Cathedral of Toledo. You may even wish to found the Royal Society of London yourself once the Enlightenment begins, causing said institution to quickly be embraced by even the furthest reaches of your nation.

LUNARIAN TECHNOLOGY
Conversely, you may wish to pursue the superior technology of the Lunar Capital. Prepare a mighty fleet after controlling the Dragon Shipyard yourself, then use the Lunarian minors as a beachhead for your attacks on the moon, either through alliances or through conquest. Maybe you'll find the Lunarian religion quite appealing, and you'll allow its ideas of Absolutism bleed into your own nation's policies. Control of the Dragon Islands also gives you an opportunity to conduct research into the Mezoamerican religions of Mayan, Nahuatl and Inti, as well as the Totemist Chieftains of North America. A strong colonial presence in the Americas means you'll have easy access to artefacts from the area, and maybe even some gold to fill your coffers while you're at it.

RELIGIONS OF GENSOKYO
Of course, you can choose to remain on the mainland of Gensokyo, and work your way through the holy sites there instead. A simple romp through Gensokyo where you collect as many shrines and holy sites as you please. Once you control all the major holy sites, perhaps you'll be able to commune with the gods themselves, allowing you to select a bonus every decade for your nation.

RELIGION VS PHILOSOPHY
Time Travellers is a nation with two very strong ideologies within it: The devotion of the Touhou Christians, and the technological passion of its founder, Yumemi. The nation tries to strike a fine balance between these two ideologies, but upon hearing of the religious turmoil of their fellow Christians in Europe, the Travellers are soon divided. During the Age of Reformation, Time Travellers may see a disaster fire where the nation is split between the Technological Reactionaries, who want the nation to stick closely to its scientific roots, or the Religious Radicals, who wish for a nation bound by its faith. Low religious unity, a ruler with weak monarch skills, and high corruption all contribute to the disaster firing, upon which you must choose which side to support.

If you choose to support the Religious Radicals, your nation will start to lose monarch points, government reform progress and institution progress, as well as have penalties to idea cost and technology cost. If you choose to support the Technological Reactionaries, the mixed religions of your nation will all rally together against you. You will suffer penalties to religious unity, tolerance of all faiths, stability cost and missionary strength. Either way, you will also have to fight against rebels - reactionaries who hurt your autonomy, and radicals who convert your provinces.

Depending on which group you support, you will gain a unique government type after the disaster ends. You can become a Technocratic Meritocracy, a Monarchy where the ruler is decided by their intellectual prowess (i.e. choosing between three high-skill monarchs whenever the heir dies), and the nation may choose a technology type to receive discounts whenever a new ruler takes the throne.

You can also become a Radical Theocracy, which provides massive bonuses to diplomacy of all sorts - increased war score against other religions, improved relations over time, diplomatic reputation, decreased aggressive expansion. Additionally, you also get to choose your leader just like normal theocracies, although they won't be as powerful as the

It would be good to see an expansion for Time Travelers. They're one of the most underpowered nations added in the mod so far.
Unique disaster is a fantastic idea. However, I would suggest that TT start with a unique government type instead of acquiring one in the Age of Reformation; Most Genso nations have a competent immortal liege, by the time a campaign reach Age of Reformation TT usually gets left behind by a considerable amount.
They could begin with a government type that offer a relatively small bonus in both way, and by going through the disaster upgrade one side of it and discard the other.
Beside that, in the original Touhou games, Yememi came from a world where Unified Theory was already found and used to explain everything, while herself, being a professor who believes that magic exists and ridiculed for it, went to Gensokyo in search of "Magic Forces" to wipe out that disgrace. She even recognized Reimu's invocations as magic(Reimu then pointed out that she was using "divine invocations", not magic ) in desperation to find proof of "Magic Force", and she is actually one of the less religious figure in Touhou. My humble opinion: clash between Mysticism and Scientism/Materialism would be more flavorful.
