GOG owners, of AOW3 can't download workshop mods.

It is a walled garden, restricted to Steam owners, which is why it should never be the main, and only source for any mod, of any game.

Mods should never be locked into owning the game on a specific Store site, or even to a Publisher owned site, which is why GOG does not host mods, and has rejected the idea, when naive, but well meaning users bring up the idea, because they are fooled by the Workshop's restrictions, into thinking it makes using mods "easy".

It does not, it just doesn't allow the more complex type of mods to even exist on the site, and though things have improved with some games, it's because that games devs, have provided ways to install mods, after the Steam download.

Looks like AOW3 has done that with the *.TAF file Archive system, which from what I can tell is what Steam actually downloads (Hard to be sure, when you can't download them.

As far as Valve goes, the Workshop, has one function, download files to Content folder.
Nothing more, nothing less, and beyond increasing the download size limits, it's no different today than what launched with Skyrim 8 years ago.

Mod certainly looks good, but until I can download it, looking is all I can do.

PS, I can't post on mods comment section either, but could start a discussion.
