Sonic does not set the tardis destination

I just wanted to ask why the sonic does not set the tardis destination. BTW I tried the rewrite and the original. Whenever i link the tardis rewrite i set the destination, it comes up with TARDIS destination set but then i dematerialize then materialize and i am in the exact same spot. Can someone plz help.
