the glow is orange because it's supposed to resemble a jack-o-lantern which are made from pumpkins (they are orange)

I don't think that adding that would make it better. You want less glow in the dark things on your gun so that people can't see you when you're sneaking up on them or whatever. It also makes it so that it's harder to find the gun when it's on the ground.
