Androids [1.3 | Discontinued]
Balance and theme
I am impressed with the amount of effort you put into this mod, and I really like the concept and ambiance you're aiming for. Therefore I'd like to bring up one issue which is kinda getting in the way of enjoying Androids: disjunction from tech levels.

I like the android girls. I like the rebel weapons. I like the graphics, icons, etc. But I really don't get the tech tree. Why am I able to build a droid fabricator before my colonists know how to make simple electronic devices? I can't build a TV, yet I'm perfectly fine with mass-producing droids which can mimic basic human behaviour. Shouldn't this be at the very least spacer tech?

What is the point to have working prisoners when I can just mass print perfect slaves? Why even bother with having colonists do any work? Just make a few researches, build the fabricator and drown the world in droids, which pretty much invalidate half the game.

There are mods which introduce robots in a relatively clean way. Fore example, I like how Robots Misc++ work, since 1) you need to tech up for it or but robot stations for hard cash, 2) the tech comes in many stages instead of all at once, 3) the robots are limited in function, 4) they aren't humanoid but basically future roombas. Androids, even in the simple "droid" version, are completely out of depth in comparison and should be much harder to attain.

I keep playing with the mod, because I enjoy an occasional visit from the android faction and most of the content, and also I don't want to wreck my save. But I disassembled my fabricator, purposefully lost my droid and will keep pretending these don't exist.

So, to sum up: please rethink the tech tree. Perhaps even integrate it with other good robo mods, such as Robots Misc or what the Hack. Failing that, a mod option to remove production and maintenance of droids/androids would suffice to play.

All stuff mentioned here requires a Androids 2.0 to fix :P . I will keep this mod in its current iteration and take what I learnt from this and apply it to it. I am fully aware that this mod is flawed. It started after all with me being annoyed with MAI way back when it was buggy and a colonist married a MAI unit.

As for Androids 2.0. Will start working on it whenever I am ready.

Thank you very much for your response, and best luck with Androids 2.0! :)
