Good Morning - To whom it may concern,
I wanted to know what would be needed to get the "dislike button" or "rating hit" removed from the Steam Workshop environments? I will explain later in detail why I asked this question. The short story is that people are fighting to get on the front page of the workshop (Empryion Galactic Survival) and they are using "Negative thumb" (Down vote) to shift and keep other hardworking creators down from being seen. The only way around this is to have a huge following to boost the design. However, the negative hit still has a major effect. I am not trying to stop other voices, but when you're not explaining why you don't like it and "all" your other workshop items conveniently have 1 negative after hundreds of likes. That's called a targeted strike if you ask me.
I am not writing this for myself alone there are others who are experiencing the same, and if it is a petition you all require to remove or change the system. Please let me know and I will publicly share the word.
Ratings on the Steam Video Games made by developers is needed to get feedback from the people who purchase and played the games. I respectfully only read the comments of people who have a good amount of hours and give pros and cons. Then they have haters who just like to drop a thumbs down, imagine how those game developers feel, when a person hit their games with no explanation on why. The good thing is that it's publicly recorded even if you don't leave any feedback.
For the workshop case, this is a personal creation that someone wanted to share with the world. If someone don't like it, but lack of a better word F-off. Just move on to another one. A person can get tons of subscribers and 5 likes, no harm there, but 1 negative will reduce your creation to the dungeon. And it's not even recorded like the steam video game rating system. One simple fix is we can incorporate that system into the workshop to hold people accountable.
I hope this little message was in good taste and that you understand my dilemma.
