Advice on playing the game with others online?
Hi, having trouble figuring out best way to play the game with friends and the app. We're all in different states and none of us know the game. We've played Pathfinder Card Game and Gloomhaven (GabrielM, thanks for that by the way). Any advice?

Ughh...I've just seen this post, so sorry for the late response. Unfortunately I don't know of any way to share the app screen in game. The best bet would be to find a screen sharing app, so that the person running the app can share his screen with the other players. Maybe teamviewer or something similar.

No worries, sadly, I think I've given up the idea due to the complication. I don't own the game in real life to see a DM rulebook or anything, so I can't really explain when things happen other than, "The app says so." Thanks for all the work, if you figure a way to handle scenario creation in Tabletop, let me know if you want a tester or two

You can download the companion app for free on steam as well. You still would have to use some sort of screensharing software but it is easier to share your screen from the computer rather than a mobile device. If everyone playing has two monitors it shouldn't be an issue but I realize that is not always going to be the case. Just an idea

Discord allows screensharing, maybe try that?

If you have the app and this mod, you don't need any books. The app acts as the DM. That's kinda the whole point of the app.

A small thing that might help, if you all have discord and either do not mind alt + tabbing, or have two screens, have someone share the screen the companion app is on, or share the app it self (if you have it on steam that is) that way you all can see what is going on, it is what me and friends are doing for all the fantasy flight games with a companion app.
Hope this helps a bit

Only one of you needs to actually see the Overlord App to tell people what happens.
I have the app on my tablet so I can see it and select stuff, but all other players just see TTS

I might get back to it, especially with everything going on right now. I have two screens and would be able to set up something. Again, was mostly looking at an in-TTS solution, but thinking would probably just stream the Campaign App on Discord or screen share it on Skype or something

@WeirdAI. I am having trouble understanding the problem? So to clarify:-
-Do all your friends have TTS (TableTop Simulator)?
-Do you all have Discord?
-Discord can:
-> be installed on Android, IOS, and Windows (Tablet, iphone/Mac & PC)
-> allows a voice channel with a far greater echo and noise suppression than TTS in-game-chat
-> Allow one person to Live stream TTS (and many other games) This does NOT have to be the same person hosting the TTS server (Very useful for RPG games were GM does not want to share what is behind the GM screen)
-Only one person needs to see the Companion App, the actions and choices are MEANT to be read out loud and TTS is there to reflect the position of all the maps, tokens and figurines.

Also note that two people can actually share the same PC (and TTS Licence) even if they are not in the same place. You do this using a Steam facility called Remote Play. Its not ideal and I would STRONGLY recommend that everyone purchases TTS for themselves. However this is a possible interim measure, if you have someone who is "on-the fence" deciding whether to buy TTS OR has TTS but has been put off using it because they experience lag.
There are at least five things you can do to improve the latter (lowest cost to highest)
1. Upgrade the OS (TTS runs far better on Win10 . Win 8 [genuine licenced copy] to Win10 upgrade is still FREE -just check your PC has at least the minimum spec)
2.Buy a UTP Ethernet cable and plug it into your laptop/PC/Mac and a spare port on your router (even if your router has the very best wifi adapter your laptop/PC/Mac may not!)
3.Upgrade the amount of RAM in your Laptop/PC/Mac (4GB is not usually enough, better with 8GB or even 16GB)
4. Replace your old slow Hard Disk Drive (HDD) for a faster Solid State Drive (SSD)
5 (Extreme case) buy a new Laptop/PC/Mac with a spec that fixes all of the above AND a faster multi-core processor
