maybe

20% damage
bit of knock back
has 2 shots
something like that
Seemo 22 Nov, 2018 @ 3:18am
The Thumper
Level XX Peppergun

Holds a 2-shot clip and reloads its entire clip at once.

Alt-fire to fire both shots at once, dealing knockback on the target.

-20% Damage Penalty
+35% Higher Accuracy
-25% Decreased Knockback Taken

(Solid maybe about that last one, not 100% about any of this, I'm writing this at 6 AM after no sleep for the past two days because insomnia ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hates me)
in the hands of a good scout this primary can be a nightmare to fight against

Just how the weapon looks, being a Force-a-Nature reskin would make zero sense. The weapon's design is closer to the Shortstop, and looks much more like a sidegrade to the Shortstop in just the weapon's aesthetics.

Also, "we have enough weapons in TF2?" Not even close. Take a look at the Medic, Engineer and Spy. They have the least number of unique weapons in the entire game.

Medic has four Syringe Guns, four Medi Guns and five melee weapons.
Engineer has five shotguns, three secondaries, five wrenches and a robot hand.
Spy has five Revolvers, two Sappers, three Watches and five Knives.

Meanwhile, EVERY OTHER CLASS has more unique weapons.
"We have enough weapons in TF2?" I think not.

uhh, maybe just a shortstop but more damage minus knockback and ammo and a sort of kill counter that determines the power of a shove, similar to the eyelander and some other demo swords

Okay, hold the phone. The Pomson, I agree with, but in what world is the Rescue Ranger an overpowered weapon? It has a 4-to-1 Building Health to Metal ratio, half the secondary ammo as the other shotguns (16 instead of 32) and a smaller clip size (4 instead of 6.) Would you prefer the old one that, oh, I dunno, DIDN'T USE METAL AT ALL?

Name literally ANY weapon that is a "direct upgrade" or "direct downgrade" to stock. Go ahead, I'll disprove them all.

Oh, and don't even bother with that TFTeam argument. The Jungle Inferno update happened, remember? Sandman/Cleaver and Degreaser/Reserve combos don't exist anymore.

Also, "the tf2 team's focus should be not adding even more weapons that are borderline direct upgrades or downgrades from stock but creating a balanced and competitive environment while maintaining their casual players intrest?" Bad grammar aside, that's damn near a paradox. Competitive and Casual are exact opposites. Look at the oh-so-toxic and oh-so-competitive game that is Overwatch; do you see ANY kind of the casual play you see in TF2? No.

By the game's own design, TF2 is meant to be a much more casual spin on a team-based objective-focused shooter; Just look at the average CTF server, it takes around an hour at minimum for anyone to win a game. TF2 has its own Competitive Mode (regardless of how horrid it is) for fans of much more competitive settings.

Oh, and with that note, those who actually like brainstorming weapon ideas may want to make a new Stats thread. This might take a while.

Pros
-100%More bullets in shot
-40% More knockback
-Killing 2 players within 4 sec of eachother gives you 100% Blast,Bullet,And fire resistence + 50% Knockback resistence for 5 sec (basiclly a mini ubercharge but you can still be damaged by melee

Cons
-30% Damage
-50% Speed while under "Mini Uber"
-66% Clip size
-20% Firing speed

A weapon that is a straight upgrade? The Third Degree. But in all seriousness, I don't like debating, so uh good luck I guess.

Stat?
Mouse 2 to fire the entire clip at once
This weapon reload an entire clip at once
15% less accuracy
20% more pellet per shot
1 shot kill with mouse 2 give user 25% more accuracy for 6 second and 1.5 seconds less reload time for next reload
Jouppi 19 Jul, 2021 @ 8:33am
Secondary weapon.
Shoots Scattergun bullets but has clip size of 1-2 and a longer reload
Meant to be used as a finisher weapon when you run out of ammo

Could also shoot Shortstopper bullets
