Hey there! In case my comment gets overshadowed here is a discussion post to tell you how to fix the game crash during loading.

Go to steamapps

-media,packages,Weltkrieg 83,
-DELETE OR MOVE material FOLDER or DELETE menusystem.material file inside the material folder (both should have the same effect)
