EyeDropper for floor?
We have an EyeDropper for objects. (structure and furniture)
We have an Pixel Eyedropper (EyeDropper pixel)

Can we have EyeDropper for floors?
This would definitely fix the issue of painting the floor and then changing colours only to expand later and not have the ability get the colour used to paint the floor, this is because the Pixel Eyedropper isn't very accurate.

This will be a big help, if its added. :steamthis:

nope it doesn't work because floors are just a texture, they don't have colour values stored in a def, so you have to just use the pixel eyedropper on them

The mod already is making some kinda layer to give floors the color... just make the eye dropper refer to that

I have an fix around idea. why not make a special "zone" area that the eyedropper can pick up on, when floors are coloured?
it wouldn't cause lag because Zones are passive by default.
So maybe adding a type of special Colour-able zone could be a good work around.

Why make a another layer when the mod already has one

the terrain doesn't actually have a colour value stored though, its just a texture file, so you can only do a pixel copy on it

And yet pixel selecting grabs a color. It’ll likely be the wrong color since it’s also picking up that floors shading of that texture sample

The fact you can paint the floor a specific custom color means that specific custom color is stored SOMEWHERE. Use that for a floor eye dropper

i save the custom colour for tiles myself once you paint one, but there isn't any colours stored for normal terrain, so you could only get the colour from the stored value where you already set a colour, and if you already set the colour yourself you would have it saved in your swatches anyway

@dubwise excuse me mate but how does this pixel eye dropper works exactly? I've tried it on everything I have and it only gives me 205 (on all R,G B), I tried zooming in on a pixel as hard as I could XD

thanks in advance, oh and your water mod is a 12/10, good job

it samples the pixel on the screen, if it always gives the same result then some mod is messing with your game, or maybe you're on mac or linux and the system doesn't work in that build of unity

I'm on win10, I can't think of a mod that might conflict, I have 179 mods, any idea what category of mods could mess with this?

Here are my mods: [Mod list length: 179]
