[BUG] Bedsheet Painting - Wood parts going invisible
I found a bug when changing the color of bedsheets with the Ctrl+Click function.

When painting the bedsheet, the wood parts of the bed go invisible within its outline, showing the flooring underneath. This is permanent and unless you don't mind, you can deconstruct the bed which can be painful if it's an Excellent/Legendary bed. This happened with a second bed as well.

  • I tried recreating it in multiple ways using newly constructed beds, but I couldn't immediately. Though newly constructed beds, also had wood go invisible after a long time went by (forgot to time it).
  • When moving the beds in question to another place after reloading the save file, and then paint them, the wood still went invisible. HOWEVER, when painting new beds the wood became white, not invisible.
  • Newly constructed beds, also had wood go invisible after a long time went by (forgot to time it).
  • There's also no difference in behaviour between a regular and double bed.

I wish I could tell you how to recreate it, but I tried everything in my power within game for as far as I know XD Luckily I got a save backup, so no harm was done for me, but I hope it won't happen to others that don't save regularly or actually mess up a Legendary bed.

never heard that before, without a way to recreate it all i can think is its some mod messing with the new renderer in 1.3

I really wonder what mod that might be then, because I got 0 mods installed that change default textures or anything involving beds... I swear some bugs really are magical.

there's mods that are trying to do whacky things with the new renderer or undo it entirely to help their textures or improve them and so on, like the VE mods are trying to do weird stuff right now so it could be anything

Then I expect it to be the VE mods I got installed. There's nothing special happening in the logs either that involves this being even a possible bug lol.
Didn't even know about the new renderer and certain mods messing around with it maybe a bit too much.

its completely changed in 1.3 so its a bit of a mess right now, might take months to settle down, there's daily updates to the game fixing things too

I see I see, oh well then I just won't paint the beds, not a big deal XD Mostly posted it so that its known and out there that it Can happen, most likely, due to mods messing with the new rendering as you said.

Also, respect for the insane quick responses hahah, keep up the insane wonderful work!:steamthis:

Even with no other mods active, painting the blankets of an unpainted bed makes the primary colour go white. It doesn't require the bed to be completely deconstructed though, you can paint the bed without ctrl and it will work, at least that's how it is for me.
