It looks very decent, I like it so far! I would have changed few of his skills though...
Those are my suggestions : (The top * are the most important in my opinion)

Thrust :
* Give it a "+ Bonus Damage" to Demons. (Try to make it different from the Crusader though)

Hurricane Spin :
* Give it more" ACCuracy". (It's a large attack move)
* Give it a "+ Bonus Damage" to Demons. (It's a sword that purify Demons)
* Replace "Shuffle Group" by a weak "Knockback". (It's too similar from the Bomb)
* Remove "Clear All Corpses". (It's too similar from the Bomb)
* Give it "Move Foward". (If the action was supposed to be multiple spin waves)
* Increase the "Debuff Self". (If the action is like a tornado)

Steady Shot :
* (The fact that almost all his skills have the same ACCuracy makes me nervous...)
* (This skill seems too simple in my opinion, but I don't know...)

Courage :
* Reduce "Stress" only on him. (He's the only one with the Triforce)
* Give it "+ Virtue Chance". (It's something divinely good)
* Give it "+ Stress Resist"? (I'm just perfectionist, don't bother)

Hookshot :
* (I like it a lot!)
* Only allowed to hit the 3 enemies from the back. (I'm just perfectionist, don't bother)

Big Bomb :
* (I don't like it... Maybe replace this skill by a "Riposte Skill"?)
* Otherwise, only allowed to hit the 3 enemies from the back. (So he don't explode himself)

Boomerang :
* Replace "Mark Target" by a medium "Stun". (I don't see why it marks enemies)
* Replace the "Debuff ; SPD" by a "Debuff ; Stun Resistance" (More utility)
* Give it a "Debuff ; Debuff Resistance"? (I'm just perfectionist, don't bother)

--- CAMPING SKILLS ---

Fairy Friend :
* Give it "Remove mortality Debuff". (I don't see why it increases DMG...)
* Give it some "Healing". (I believe fairies heal in many Zelda games)

Sword Beam :
* It's way too weak. Add stuff to it? (Keeping the health above 85% is hard)

Ballad Of The Windfish :
* Give it some "Stress Heal". (I'm just perfectionist, don't bother)

Song Of Time :
* Give it "Reduce Chance Party Surprised". (If you mean like returning in time to warn)
* Give it "Increase Chance Enemy Surprised". (I'm just perfectionist, don't bother)
* Reduce the SPD and Dodge Buff. (If you add those improvements above on this skill)

---

GJ AGAIN FOR THIS MOD, AMAZING ARTS!

Edit 1: Aw, hell. It deleted half my post.

1) Thrust

Master Sword is a holy relic of great power, but simply giving it +X damage against Y is boring gameplay. It's commonly a feature in Zelda games to have an energy projectile fly from one's weapon when at high health, so I interpret Sword Beam as that extra damage + a melee swing.

It's better than flat, constant damage because it provides another triage dimension for players to work with. Do they heal the low-health target, or play risky and heal the one who can get a nice damage buff? It's more involving.

I'd rather do that because I think it has more gameplay value.

2) Hurricane Spin

The accuracy is fair. It's the standard (See Breakthrough and Crusader's AoE).

I will change the shuffle to a knockback. That's very reasonable.

I'll remove clear corpses.

The debuff and movement won't change, though.

3) Steady Shot

I can buff it by 5 to be on par with Grave Robber. Although, it's 105 at level 5 for Highwayman's pistol. 85-105 is fine.

Did you get the Ice Arrow and Light Arrow? They add more dimensions to the bow.

4) Courage

He'll keep the stress heal. It gives him a stress healing/ranged alternative to the Arbalest, and the Crusader for melee stress healing.

Virtue & stress resist don't work so well outside of trinkets/camp buffs. I'd rather leave the skill as-is.

5) Hookshot

Thanks! The Duelist Hookshot is one of my favorite items.

6) Big Bomb

This is my least favorite ability, but it's what I have art for, and bombs are an iconic Zelda feature. It's here to stay.

Four Swords Adventure (4 Links) is pretty fun with this ability, though.

7) Boomerang

I'm not sure why it would stun enemies, either.

If I let it stun, and give it stun resistance removal, that means it needs to go through debuff resist and stun resist with 1 ability, which results in Link spamming it. Nobody would ever pick it over a PD's gas stun. In general, I don't want to encourage ability spam either.

The ability's certainly unique in its AoE mark. Maybe even controversial. I guess that depends on the value of mark parties. Some people swear against them and say they're useless, and other people might say they're only useful in parties which mark. This ability helps a mark team unload quite quickly.

I wanted Hero to be able to lead a mark party with this ability, using the boomerang to indicate and distract enemies while the team attacked.

I'm willing to change it, but I need something really novel.

8) Camping Skills

Navi & Tael help you fight more effectively against enemies, which I liken to marking them or a weak point on them.

Sword Beam only costs 2 supply though.

Ballad of the Wind Fish and Song of Time are eligible for changes, too. I just need something that clicks more.

The stress heal is a nice touch. I will replace the stress resist with it.

I'd rather like to avoid "Surprised." I think it's a bit too strong to have on demand.

9) Thank you! I appreciate your thoughts. Expect these changes momentarily.

The Boomerang stuns enemies in "Twilight Princess", "Phantom Hourglass" and "Spirit Tracks" as far as I know. I'm more of a "Recent Zelda Gamer", so like, my oldest Zelda Game is just "Twilight Princess". Not having much nostalgia or knowledge from super old games... :/

A Riposte Skill is rather easy to make for me. We don't necessarly need a new sprite for each skill (The Vestal herself has the same sprite image for many skills).

I had few questions for you :
1. If it is really the art of someone else, did the creator drew those pictures because you asked him to do so? Or was it originally just a custom skin for the Shieldbreaker?

2. How did you create those custom sounds? I know it's something about FMOD, but it doesn't work for me... If you want to keep it a secret, it's cool too, but just less cool... Please help? ;/

Aha! I must be super old, too. :D

You started where I stopped. My last Zelda game was Wind Waker. I've played everything up to that point.

I'd rather not add a riposte skill. Many of my previous mods have it because I saw it as an inescapable design requirement of Dark Souls characters. That's my failure of imagination with those mods, and I'd rather be more imaginative here. He has so many more interesting items & options to implement than a riposte. I could just add an 8th skill, but there's no art for the ability to work with to make it look cool. I could use the defend? But I dislike using the same animation twice.

The artist, AceroSteel, drew it on whim as far as I know. I made this entirely on whim, too. He and I have maintained good communication, and I'm happy to say I know of such an incredible artist. If you'd like to speak with him, and congratulate him on his work, you can message him at NexusMods.com. He doesn't take commissions or requests as far as I know.

That said, he's pretty free-going with his mods. If you're capable of creating a variant of this Link doing something riposte-y, I'm sure he'd be okay with that upon the asking, and I could add it.

If I were to do it, I'd probably just give Link 1 block buff, and then a riposte effect. That would emulate his shield blocking 1 thing.

As far as the custom sounds, I found stuff online, and then used the audio program and guide found here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=819597757

I also have audacity to cut, edit, and otherwise change sound files.

Wow! They added a lot of stuff in this modding guide! I kind of gave up on it in the past since it was almost empty. Thanks, I'll check this out! :steamhappy:

I'm happy to help!
Arylice 11 Dec, 2018 @ 11:52pm
Nah... It still doesn't work... There must be something I'm doing wrong. I'm mostly a visual person, I need a visual tutorial to understand better...
Caedwyn  [developer] 12 Dec, 2018 @ 12:27am
Don't go hollow. You'll get it.
Evocatari 14 Dec, 2018 @ 5:51pm
I'd recommend giving the Boomerang a fairly good chance to stun just one of the targets it hits, if that's possible. If not, my alternative would be to give it a low chance to stun that applies to all targets.

Were I the one making this, my approach to the Boomerang would be to make it target only a single rank with a high chance to stun with a chance of hitting two other ranks (on the way back to the Hero) and applying the debuffs you've included but with no chance to stun at all. While I don't suggest revamping the move like this, perhaps it'll give you some ideas, so I thought I'd mention it.

I really like that in addition to what Araylie mentioned. I have a Boomerang rework incoming.

damn, I need that aoe mark for my group... Can you make the rework optional/keep the aoe mark on it? I hate searching for new characters to mark the enemy party with, then leveling them etc.
Caedwyn  [developer] 15 Dec, 2018 @ 6:02am
It's keeping the AoE mark functionality, but it'll be a scaling chance to mark all 4 targets.

You'll be fine.

Bomb rework incoming, too.

Heart Container nerf incoming as well.
Caedwyn  [developer] 15 Dec, 2018 @ 7:53am
The Boomerang rework was too OP to keep. It'll remain as it is now, except with a scaling mark chance.

The Bomb has been nerfed, but there's a new item which makes it as strong as it used to be.

Great mod so far - really enjoying it!

Odd thing I spotted: the Camping Skill "Sword Beam" effects ALL damage, not just melee damage.
Thus, sword beams are coming out of his Bombs right now. It's kinda odd.

Another thing to note: the Golden Gauntlets also boost all damage, not just melee. Perhaps intentional, since Boomerang and Bow can be used with greater force (greater draw strength, for example), but wanted to mention that too.

Ah, yes.

They already have conditional modifiers on them. I can't add 2, in most cases.

For Golden Gauntlets, I decided to keep it rank 1 instead of strictly "melee."

Likewise for Sword Beam, it also has the life % condition.

I figured, though these are a bit inconsistent, they would be more compelling than simple, flat damage modifiers with negligible conditions.
