How to setup a local server to prevent the hibernation issue in single player game.
Ark is a multiplayer game per se, running a server is always recommended. Also if you play alone.
You need a good PC to run both an Ark-server and Ark or you can install the Ark server on a second PC in your network (windows, osx or linux).
Explanation:
The hibernation is an Ark related thing for single player. I know, it is a mess. But if you have a good pc or another pc you can also run a server of ark and play on this local server. For modding i use this technique to test my mods.

A Server does not use the hibernation!

How To setup a server on the same machine:
I own a i6800k with 32GB ram and a GTX1080 and running Ark and an Ark server is no problem.
If you want to try it out, do the follwoing:
1. Start Ark
2. goto HOST/LOCAL config page
3. choose "run dedicated server". your single player settings are used by the server in this way.
4. enter a password, an admin password and a session name. This server will be accessible from the internet, so a password is recommended.
5. choose "Accept", Ark will close and open a console window. This will take some time, even on my system this will take several minutes.
6. You know the server is successfully started, when the console is showing something like "Server: [Your Servername] has successfully started!",
where [Your Servername] is the name you have entered as the Session name in the hosting window.
There are also more information in the console like the commandline: ..., the Full Startup time and number of cores.
7. DO NOT CLOSE THE CONSOLE WINDOW

Now it is time to start the Ark game. This will not work from Steam, but from the installation folder of your Ark game.
To find the folder, where your Ark is installed
8. Open Steam and in your game library search for ARK: Survival Evolved
9. Right click on ARK: Survival Evolved and choose "properties...".
10. click on the "local files" tab
10. in the local files part of the settings window click on the button "browse local files...". this will open the windows explorer or finder on mac.
11. enter folder "ShooterGame"
12. enter folder "Binaries"
13. enter folder "Win64"
14. double click on "ShooterGame_BE.exe" to start Ark with Battle Eye support, because the default option for an Ark server is an activated Battle Eye.
15. now you can enter you local hosted server game. Click on "Join Ark"
16. choose on the bottom of the server window the session filter: LAN
17. now you should see your own hosted server you have setup in step 1 to 7.
18. choose the server and click "Join"
19. enter your first password you have set in step 4.
20. have fun!

notes:
step 3. Ark uses an own folder for saving the game for a server game. But you can of course play your single player game map also on the server.
for this you need to copy the content of the folder ShooterGame/Saved/[Map name]SavedArksLocal to ShooterGame/Saved/SavedArks
example: to copy the Island Map the single player folder name is "SavedArksLocal". Enter this folder in the explorer and you can copy all files or only the "TheIsland.ark".
paste these files directly in to the folder ShooterGame/Saved/SavedArks.
The main save file is the [mapname].ark file. this file contains all structures and dinos. if you have copyed only the ".ark" file, you will need to create a new player.
another example for map Extinction you copy the content of the folder ShooterGame/Saved/ExtinctionSavedArksLocal to the folder ShooterGame/Saved/SavedArks.
Do not copy the Folder into SavedArks, but the content of the folder. The ShooterGame/Saved/SavedArks must contain the Extinction.ark file and NOT the folder ExtinctionSavedArksLocal

step 14. if you start the "ShooterGame.exe" Ark will start, but if you enter your hosted game, Ark will reload with activated battle eye

Another way is to start the Ark server directly from the Ark folder:
Follow steps 8. to 13. and find the ShooterGameServer.exe. But you need a batch file to start the server, because the server needs to be started with a lot of parameters.
Please google for starting a dedicated Ark server.

Also another way is to setup the server on another pc in your network. the easiest way would be to have an installed ark on another pc (you can copy the complete Ark folder to another PC with installed steam).
