This mod does not do any buffs or such on creatures. it only follows the position of the current found dino, which does not cause any lags.
If you search for example for all creatures, it will take some time, because a map can contain 30,000 to 100,000 creatures.
But the -preventhibernation is a mess for the single player game, total useless because of the lags. each creature not in range to the player is destroyed (by the hibernation manager) and must be recreated as soon as it comes in range. With all attached buffs etc.
With your hardware you are able to run a server on your machine too.
I always recommend running a server, you can start Ark as a dedicated server and lso as a client on the same machine (first start Ark Server from Steam and then the client Shootergame.exe from the Shootergame\Binaries\Win64 folder). So you do not need the -preventhibernation flag for both.
I ran the same way including the ressource hungry Ark Dev Kit at the same time (i7 6800k, GTX 1080 and 32GB ram).
Or if you own an older pc, you can run the ark server on it in your local network. it is almost better than the -preventhibernation thing.
BTW. what map are you playing?
Update: i have justed tested the Island. Fresh map and after 1800 creatures created my machine runs at 86 fps (with all grafic settings maxed).
After a few minutes the map has 30,000 creatures and the computer runs at 83 fps.
The "lost" of fps is Ark related and comes not from the mod, because the only thing the mod does, is displaying the UI and do the search for a moment.
The lag is constant. I don't even have to pull up mod UI. it gets so bad I get dizzy and can't see straight for a while after if I try to play with it.
I was playing on theIsland, and now on SE. it was really bad on the island, that's why I jumped to SE to test. I've never searched for all creatures. Only nearest or specific. It's just weird that I can play SE (didn't try yet on island) without the mod but -PH enabled, but not with mod loaded.
I'm jealous it runs fine for you and everyone else. Though as you said, it's probably because I'm SP and I need to run a dedicated server. I'm new to ARK still so haven't been able to set that up. I tried a couple times, but the cmd thing just doesn't seem to finish.. I have to figure it out. ty for the instruction.
It def sounds like the way to go though, thanks, hopefully that fixes everything. I'll update later
Cheers man
I think, your Ark installation is broken in some way... (but i think also, you have done the verification)
As i said, this mod does nothing, which would cause a perment lag. And i have not heard from other players about this issue. perhaps a faulty HDD or SSD or a misconfigured system.
I have reinstalled the game all mods twice. verified a dozen times. many other things. it's a fresh install of Win10 too. eh.
