A Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia

A Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia

Manic's Expanded Factions (Pack 1)
An explaination on victory condition duplicating/editing in pfm
I will explain this useing Ulaid as my example

1. open your mod in PFM and open your start_pos.esf
2. open CAMPAIGN_PREOPEN_MAP_INFO
3. open VICTORY_MISSION_OPTIONS
4. select VICTORY_MISSION_OPTIONS - 7
5. right-click select duplicate
6. select VICTORY_MISSION_OPTIONS - 8
7. in right most panel change vik_fact_mide to vik_fact_ulaid

Now you could stop right their and for most cultures you pretty much can but with the irish the kingdom vic is specific to Mide the province if you wanted to perrsonalize it for each faction all you would need to do is this.

8. open VICTORY_MISSION_OPTIONS - 8
9. open VICTORY_MISSION_BY_TYPE_BLOCK
10. open VICTORY_MISSION_BY_TYPE_BLOCK - 0
11. open VICTORY_MISSION_BLOCK
12. open VICTORY_MISSION_BLOCK - 4
13. open CAMPIAGN_MISSION_DEFINITION
14. open CAMPIAGN_MISSION_DEFINITION_AND_PAYLOAD
15. open OBJECTIVES - 1
16. open CAMPIAGN_MISSION_OBJECTIVE
17. select CAMPIAGN_MISSION_OBJECTIVE_IMPL_CONTROL_N_PROVINCES_INCLUDING
18. in right most panel change vik_prov_mide to vik_prov_dal_naraidi

now save your mod and enjoy your new victory condition for Ulaid, rinse and repeat for the rest of the factions. if you have any questions leave them here and i'll try to get to them

Thanks for this handy tutorial! Admittedly, I have since discovered how to do this and am currently doing so for all factions for the next major update that should be coming in the next day or so. Saying that, thanks for confirming for me that the process I am using is indeed the correct one!
no problem I had just come across your mod and saw that you wern't sure so thought this would be an easy way to get that info across. If you run into any problems with it let me know.

Thanks! I'll be sure to ask you if I run into any problems.

Speaking of problems, I know this is a desperate stab in the dark, but you wouldn't by any chance know how to set faction leader portraits on the faction selection menu would you? Out of all the cosmetic fixes I've set out to do, that seems to be the only one that continues to allude me. I can give factions their own maps, descriptions and victory conditions but I cannot for the life of me work out how to show the faction leader portrait. I know it's a very minor issue but it really bugs me and is probably the thing that frustrates me the most about the mod right now. That generic Roman general that is shown in the place of the faction leader just keeps starting at me... taunting me...
yup gimmie a few minutes to look it over and work out how best to explain it then i'll drop another quick tutorial here.
ok so what you need to do is pull the DB table frontend_faction_leader_table from the Data.pack into your pack and from there you just need to add a line for the faction you want. A list of the different protraits can be found in the campaign_character_arts_table.

Oh my word, it's finally fixed! Funnily enough, I actually tried editing that file before but it didn't work. At first, I thought it failed again, but I realised you actually do have to add the correct name ID at the very end. At first, I didn't think it mattered since the name shows above the portrait anyway but it seems it doesn't work without out. Anyway, thanks so much for the fix. I can finally go to bed now without that grating on my mind...
No problem happy to have helped

Just one more question (I promise!). I've almost finished adding victory conditions to unlocked factions. I noticed there is a file in 'campaign/vik_attila' titled 'vik_victory_conditions.lua' that seemingly lists the short and long kingdom victory faction name changes for the playables. If I were to add unlocked factions to this list, would this be all I would need to do in order to have them change their name when they achieve short and long kingdom victories in the campaign?
I'm not 100% on this one but after looking at it I would say it's very likely that you are right.
