(Edit: I am not going to change anything to the main text just so there is context for the discusion you'll see, but I encourage you to read further into this discussion as I was kinda edgy in my original post but I do have a point. A lot get's cleared up further in this thread. So please don't be the next in a line of edgelords who think I gave their favorite youtuber a big boo boo and now you have to avenge him. Read this ♥♥♥♥ and maybe, just maybe put some thought into this. Cheers)

I am not really claiming here to represent the workshop community as a whole here
though I know a majority of people in the workshop community think this way,

Frankly, if you actually bother to look up all the folks that left the sensible/critical/annoyed comments here, you'd find out quickly enough that all of them are workshoppers with one of more self-mades under their belt.

You might also find out that making a video with a bunch of pretentious and mean-spirited views on others people's works, to then make and post this kind of crap, makes you look hypocritical at best...

The workshop just barely recovered from Valve f*cking up the way they handle alt styles, the last thing we need at this point is a guy who hogs attention away from actual well made items with crap that get's popular only because of the maker and not the merits of the item.

Me personnally, I think it's kinda sad that no tf-tuber ever aknowledged the existance of the workshop, and more importantly, the amazing creative talent here. Even though we're the one aspect of tf2 that gets a constant stream of new and exiting content. We sorely miss a figure like 3kliksphilipe. Now you've come here, and you've only shone a spotligt on yourself.

and in the meantime you might wanna use that influnce of yours to shine some spotlight on people that actually deserve it. They might even help you out.

I don't really find it all that pretentious, it's more like general criticism of modern tf2 artstyle (which he puts more on Valve than any community creator; Valve chooses implementation). Personally, I wish for a cl command that would turn off all ridiculous cosmetics.

1: How does this submission not count as a self made under their (funke)'s belt, this still took effort and time to make i imagine, i doubt it took as much time as a higher quality cosmetic but still

2:Point to a specific video for this, ive never seen funke actually be an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about something, he just critiqes things, i aint white knighting, i just dont know where your getting that from.

3: Fair point, but i personally would vote on the hat cause of the dumb joke behind it and not just cause it has funke plastered on it, theres plenty of hats in tf2 that are just plain goofy and dont make sense, i dont see how this would be different.

4: ARES above me kinda already made a point. Besides that, are you including map makers in that one aspect? Dont forget them either. And FYI Funke in his "Death of artstyle" points out "Item contributors are shafted by valve" and how "Revenue is so diluted through key sales that most sucessful item makers wont derive much profit (if any) after the applicable crate/case series ends" So he clearly sees these problems, and id rather him point out that these amazing cosmetic/map designers
arent getting the profit they deserve for their hard work or the attention by valve then ignore them and just point out good maps or cosmetics, (plenty of people already point out the good, id say) and he even admits that the video might make him come off as a hard-ass and goes on about how some of it aint gonna hurt anything but there is a difference between contexually comical and just ♥♥♥♥♥ stupid. He even covers the workshop rather quickly in a left 4 dead video as well. so you saying youtubers never acknowledge the workshop AT ALL is invalid.

How does git gud help your statement, it just makes you appear douchey and makes it obivious you got pissed off quickly by this and undermines your otherwise good points

To be honest I have been waiting for a good item that would be some kind of inside joke or reference that would have enough attention to actually make it into the game, if you or others are actually angry about someone else’s success in their career and think they are just using it to get their way, then obviously the first point is you are not a fan of the creator. Of all the time I have watched him, I have never seen any characteristic that would show he is in this kind of stuff for himself. Secondly, your just jealous or at least acting like you are. A piece of advise, build a bridge and get over it, if that is the case. Because the way you go into detail about it, I would not have to look on your profile to see if you are a workshop developer yourself. Which I find that to be amazing that you are able to create stuff, but acting like this negatively, really dude?

well i aint joing this disscusion or anything but for me i think some of the times tf2 is kinda silly and ridiculous so idk why you would want to turn it off silly cosmetics if tf2 has some cosmedic memes in place

I find this comment from you particularly funny, especially because of the garbage under your name breaks the style harder than I break into tears every night.

Anyways, this workshop is awful. Ninety-percent of the creators here don't care about the art-style or characters at all. The taunts here are just the worst. They're uninspired, they're lazy, and they prove that this community has no idea what they're doing. I'm not saying this hat is pleasant to the eyes, but what I am saying is nearly every other hat in this workshop is just as gross.

You're not entitled to anything. Nobody has to acknowledge anything that comes from here. Remember that next time before you go on a ♥♥♥♥♥-fit.

If I offend any creators here, good. I hope you realize you're actively making TF2 a worse game by letting the team do absolutely nothing for a year and a half.
