Dev Blog II
The realise date of the next update is the 15th December. Here is the changelog of the next update:
Major Changes/Additions:
  • added auxiliary player feature from great mod 1257AD
  • added new presentation for mod options with new settings to enable/disable features (code is based on the options menu from VC)
  • added new Roman items
  • added new presentation for barracks to recruit single soldiers
  • added new auxiliary cohorts for Rome, with area of recruitment (a consequence of that is that Romans have fewer cavalry now)
  • added new option to marry Poppea Sabina after the assassination of Nero
  • added more flavor to the event of Neros assassination
  • added new customizable player legion
  • made Gwenhwyfar able to marry: You can marry her after the event chains, if you are not married yet and if your relation with her is positive, she won’t leave your party, even if you get captured. She acts like a normal spouse, e.g. you can make children with her and make her your prime minister.
  • changed how rebellions work: The conditions for a rebellion to occur are as following:
    1) the town/castle must be either Germanic, British, Dacian or one of the nomads.
    2) the town/center is not under siege
    3) the town/center is not looted
    4) the town/center has a different culture than the faction owning it
Then, the probability that the rebellion triggers is calculated as following:
If garrison is less than 120 the chance is 15 percent, if the garrison is between 120-220 than the chance is 10 percent, if the garrison is between 220-400 its 5 percent if it is higher than 400 it is 1 percent. This probability is modified by the following: when you have a nightly curfew, entry controls or strict law enforcement issued, it is reduced by one. If the lord of the town has the same culture as the town, probability is reduced by 4. Meaning for instance, if you have a garrison higher than 400 and one of those decrees issued, no rebellion should occur.
  • Changed how random attacks on the town garrison work:
The condition that it triggers are:
    1) center is not besieged
    2) center culture is different from faction culture
Then a probability is calculated. The base probability is 30 percent, it is reduced by the following decrees, each one reduces it by 6 percent: entry controls, strict law enforcement, curfew. If the town/castle lord has the same culture as the town/castle, then the probability is reduced by 10 percent.
  • added quest about a slave revolt: You get this quest when you join the roman army for the first time, you must crush a slave revolt
  • added quest about a widow: you receive this quest when you ask a lady with higher than 0 relation about the recent rumors ('Have you heard anything interestingly recently'). If you succeed, you can gain 100,000 denars!
  • added quest to join the Roman Army and a quest to improve your renown, you receive those quests after you visited the underworld, and if you have not already a renown higher than 200 and if you are not already part of the Roman army
  • added quest about the apostle paul
  • added new presentation which allows you to tweak how moral on battlefields works
  • added quest: the secret of Kaeso Flavius. The goal is to find out his secret to blackmail him, you can achieve this by becoming his friend or by finding allies among his family. The quest will trigger after you enlisted military service for Roman and after you visited the underworld.
  • added two quests: after the player has completed the native starting quests and after the player had the final talk with Gaius Lucarius (the starting town merchant) the player, when entering the town center, will receive a message to meet with the goods merchant of Rome the goods merchant then gives the player a quest with a high reward
after the player has completed the quest, he will be invited to a party
  • added new way of income: in the player owns a village, he can let his prisoners/slave work their, simply build a manor, then you can add prisoners to the village. Each prisoner will generate between 60 and 100 denars (on average 80 denars) additional rents, you can put as many prisoners in as you like but if you have more than 100 prisoners, it will become very likely that they will escape, escaped prisoners will spawn as bandit party near your village. Also if the village is raided, slaves can escape.
  • added new quest about the lost eagle of one of the legion which were destroyed in Teuteburg. You receive this quest from emperor Nero, when you are part of the Roman faction (not as mercenary but): goal is to find the lost eagle

Minor Changes and Fixes:
  • changed font color in party screen
  • some additions to how unrest works: If you complete one of the conquest quests, unrest will be reduced, also if the Jewish revolt is defeated, unrest will be reduced.
  • Kladiwoi (naked swordsman) and Tiwaz Drutiz (germanic berserkers) won't flee during battles, they fight till the last man now
  • removed some unnecessary stuff and restructured brf files a bit
  • fixed dialogue option to leave the conversation when talking with enemy nonRoman Lords or
  • moved some castles and villages a little bit and changed some town and castle names

  • changed renown threshold for joining Roman Army from 250 to 200, as described in game concepts
  • added to the characters overview, which legion a legatus commands
  • added a check to most events, so they will not trigger when player is prisoner or on water

  • soldier wifes, camp followers, hunter woman and camp defender will now add to your wound treatment skill (up to max of 3)
  • deleted some unused sounds and added some missing sounds
  • added shoes to some Arabian and African troops
  • fixed some minor error in moral code, may also improves performance during battles a bit
  • minor changes to sacrifices to prevent that certain attributes become to high/low
  • maximum garrison for villages is now 150 men
  • fixed a bug with the village management menu
  • fixed a bug were you cant enact the lax militaris again
  • added if a village has a manor and a garrison higher than 50 no bandits will infest it
  • restructured dialogue with companions, to make more clear and less confusing
  • added a simple bank system: you can now deposit your money in Roman towns if you are not at war with Rome, simply talk with the Praefectus, who can be found in the scriptorium
  • changed how renaming a city works: now you loose relationship and you don't need linen anymore, if you rename you capital the relation loose is influenced by your ministers persuasion skill
  • You can now purchase every Roman equipment by Gaius Marius, a merchant, who can be found in the streets of Rome, even the equipment which is used by the 11 different legions and the praetorian guard.
  • removed some native axes
  • added new camp scenes, for the case when the player has less than 20 men in party, and one for the case when the player is on see.
  • Fixed typos, wherever I found some
  • changed hp threshold for healing light wounds at the doctor, you can now heal your light wounds if you have lower than 90 hp and it will be restored to 91% of your health.
  • fixed the duels when praying to your chosen god: there are four duels, if you win them all, you will receive a set of armors, forged by Vulcanus himself
  • fixed a bug where empty parties spawned next to villages
  • added option to convert normal prisoners into slaves

I won't add more new features for this update. Currently I try to test as much as possible and polish everything and find bugs.
In future updates, I want to rework the Jewish revolt and also add some kind of freelancer feature (and of course, polishing, bug fixing etc.).

Looks very good.
Outside of topics though, do you plan to expand on Delphi and Olympia's mechanics?
Currently outside of first visit, Pytia is basically useless and takes your money.
On top of that, you can't attend Olympic games.
The game is eternally "in three years" no matter how much time had passed in game.

@adriankowaty, Pythia is only for fun (like those useless flavor events in Ck2). Btw I like such useless stuff. But maybe I add a little surprise when you visit here a second time. And regarding the Olympic games, when I have a good idea how it could work, I may add something.

I know, but it feels unfinished. You could expand the event chains and enable those Olympic games, otherwise people will rarely see those places.
You don't need (and won't probably) to make this for this uptade, but you could think over it for next one.
Also the possibility to turn this Briton woman from Pegwern into character's wife looks very amazing, I will clearly use an option for that.

Also small type, the mod is 1257 AD, not 1256 AD.

I really love that you thought about giving the player ability to marry Poppea after Nero's death, i remember when i romanced her and there was all this talk about love but she was only useful for information :c
Overall this update looks amazing, thank you so much for your amazing work! <3

kormoran 23 Dec, 2019 @ 8:34am
are kids growing up? do you die in this mod?
[BG]Maxi  [developer] 23 Dec, 2019 @ 9:00am
@Kooooooormoran ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, not really, I thought about adding something like that, but not really, and I will probably never add something like that. One has to wait for bannerlord ...
But you can die, but if you die, you will come to the main menu.

Speaking of that, at rare occassions (usually when doing autocalculations for battles and sieges, especially if you win) game redirects you to starting screen and later to main menu.
I haven't found out what causes it, but it happens wierdly often when you do autosiege while your army helps Roman marschall.
