I became Christian, and it turns out that (at least in two of my games) Kaeso Flavius was also a recent convert to Christianity. I didn't have to pay him any money, it took only a little bit of effort, and I instantly marched into Rome as the effective emperor. No civil war took place. Everybody joined my side without ever mentioning any sort of war. I was, of course, on decent relations with all of the Legates, so that probably played a role
