Another requested feature is an INI setting to deactivate bars completely for those creatures listed in the INI file (by name).
With the update from today, there is a new toggleable 'minimalistic mode' that displays only small bars (without numbers and other information).
Alt + F6 has also been re-added to quickly toggle the bars for wild creatures if you don't need them at the moment.
Honestly I could see both ideas useful. I persaonlly would prefer the second option of just disabling it for basic creatures. And as such, I love the idea of black listing a name in the settings.
That would be my persoanll prefernce, and I don't want to speak for anyone else.
But I could see it being useful to disable all when you get in the water.
Maybe just do whatever is easiest, then move on to the next when you get time? I'm no coder, so I don't know what is time consuming. But the idea of black listing a specific name does sound nice.
The ability to filter out which bars are displayed for dinos via an INI file definitely interests me as I can confirm performance can suffer when viewing a lot of small dinos at once (fish, breeding dinos, packs of small dinos, etc) with health bars up. I would like to add my input and suggest the ability to have a few different dino bars groups that you could classify dinos under and then toggle viewing the different groups with various keyboard shortcuts. The menu to add dino species to one of the dino bar groups might look something like the species of dinos listed when configuring a turret (at least the S+ version) to either include or exclude particular dinos from the triggering mechanism. That way you can quickly change what dinos the bars are viewable for with a keyboard shortcut depending on the situation which makes it much more flexible and fluid during gameplay. An example of the groups I might use below:
Group 1 = Fish, Dimorphs, Dilos, Compys, Microraptors, Pegos, Troodons
Group 2 = Therizinos, Rexs (Boss DPS)
Group 3 = Daeodons, Yuty (Boss Support)
Group 4 = Penguins (Let's say I'm breeding these for polymer at the time)
Group 5 = Spiders, Bats, Meganuera, Leeches (Small and/or crowded spaces in caves)
Something like that, not sure what's a reasonable number of groups but I thought I would give an example.
Another cool idea would be the option to set the dino bars groups to automatically enable or disable their visibility to the player when the user goes into or leaves combat.
I know these suggestions might be a bit much at the moment which I totally understand however I wanted to share them in case they are of interest to anyone else. I would be pretty happy with just the INI option though :P
I appreciate your time!
And yeah, that sounds like a great idea. More user control. I'm sure OP won't be working on it now, but I toss out the random idea for future use. Doesn't hurt anything.
OP has been updating consistanly. I like mod authors like that. I still don't like tp push to much, real life takes priority.
But makes me feel guilty when they put a donation page up and I don't update whne they do an idea I had.
