The branching storyline options would be remaining a society that still consumes without care, ravaging the planets they live on, or realizing that some consideration for the environment of the worlds they live on will be better for all involved.
One choice would lead to pushback from whatever shareholder equivalent a Megacorp would have due to lower profits overall, while the other would cause pushback from those not directly associated with the Megacorp due to not wanting to destroy other planets the way they did their own.
