If I'm confused on where to go, or if I wanna see the map but not interested in playing it myself, I should be able to watch a simple walkthrough.
It's not like we're being forced to watch it either, so I don't get what you mean by "ruining the experience." There are thousands of YouTube videos on games like The Last Of Us, God of War, and Red Dead 2, and I don't see a single person talking about how their experience got ruined because of that.
