Verify Integrity of XCom 2 or copy the mod folder from the workshop folder to your local mod directory (if you know how to do this)
Did you enable the mod? You should use the Alternate Mod Launcher instead of the default launcher.

I am also encountering the same problem.
Turn off all Mod, even if only this Mod is enabled, it will not be improved.
It's as if they can not read assets.
It's a very good Mod, so I definitely want to use it.
