[Bug] Parking restrictions
See screenshot.

Yellow oval: cars only park on restricted section of road, do not park in unrestricted section
Red oval: cars don't park either in restricted or unrestricted sections
Blue oval: cars park both in restricted and unrestricted sections

All three examples use the same road. Traffic and pedestrians operate on the roads as usual. This happens in other parts of the city too but this was a perfect spot to demonstrate a mixture of examples. This has happened in other saves and on other road types.

Did you enable "Apply AI changes right away"?

Yes.

I'll test later today, it looks weird.

What if you move(slightly) that road segment with that mixed parking restrictions(using MoveIt)?

Will vehicles reshuffle to the disabled lane or not?
Pixelclone 30 Jul, 2021 @ 5:23am
The vehicles reshuffle but the odd restrictions/no restrictions remain.

The roads with the faults in the screenshot are from this pack:
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1601040013
Namely the 2 lane, 2 way road with parking.

If I use the vanilla 2 way road it works as expected.

It seems that with the workshop road, the buggy effects depend on which side of the road you apply the restriction to. Restrict one side, one bug happens. Restrict the other side, a different bug happens.

I use these roads A LOT (pretty much my entire city) and I'm not sure why the parking restrictions are glitchy with these roads.

Ok, now I remember one, not yet resolved issue[github.com], the user also used those networks. I'll investigate what is wrong on with those assets.
Thanks!

Thank you for your quick responses and for investigating this.

Quick note: that user and me are both using left-hand traffic, I don't know if that's related at all or if it's purely those assets.

I haven't tested the parking restrictions on other assets from Macwelshman.

Would you be able to let me know here when you think you've got a fix in place please?

Yes, I'm going to test it later today and I'll report back my findings :winter2019coolyul:

Ok, I spotted few issues, both in assets and TM:PE/vanilla code.

2L1W with parking has a bug where both parking lanes were positioned at the same spot which result in vehicles parking on the one side of the road.

2L2W have parking lane direction set to both which is not fully supported by the game and TM:PE (vehicles always park in the same direction on both lanes) - those roads where two parking lanes are available to disable, but there is no highlight when you hover over P button. Disabling lanes does not work for those segments despite you see that UI shows otherwise, and disabling one lane actually disables the opposide while disabling the other one makes TM:PE to completely ignore setting but for both lanes. Fully supported parking lane direction: Forward, Backward, AvoidForward and AvoidBackward. Other settings like Both(like in this example) and AvoidBoth won't work as expected.

First issue can be easily fixed, the other one requires a change from Both to either Forward or Backward for all assets when that option was used.

Third issue - 2L1W or 1L1W (both with 2x parking lane) - you can't disable parking lane only on the one side of the road.

Anyway, to support all cases in TM:PE they require major change in the "disable parking lane" feature which will make saved settings not backward compatible in case you want to switch between versions (stable <-> test, not yet public)
No ETA, but possible it might be implemented in v11.7 or v11.8.
Pixelclone 1 Aug, 2021 @ 1:21pm
So in summary, you reckon this might be implemented in TM:PE v11.7 or v11.8? And that will fix the problem?

Or is there more outside of your control that'd need to be done too, say by the asset creator?
Krzychu1245  [developer] 1 Aug, 2021 @ 1:25pm
Yes, I didn't mentioned clearly but First issue can be easily fixed, the other one requires a change from Both to either Forward or Backward for all assets when that option was used. were the options for asset creator

Okay thank you.

I've noticed that some of these roads also don't appear in the speed limit default list thing, where you scroll through the roads any you save/apply speed limits.

Do you think this could be related?
Krzychu1245  [developer] 1 Aug, 2021 @ 2:25pm
Setting default speed limits is currently under complete redesign, and new version will be available in the next update (v11.6)
