TM breaks vanilla AI?
As I understand it Dynamic Lane Selection changes the pathfinding of vehicles, specifically the lane selection. So unchecking that box should have CS run on vanilla lane selection rules right?

In vanilla CS adding a right off-ramp to a highway makes cims avoid the right lane and adding a left off-ramp to a highway makes them avoid the left lane. However with TM active but DLS unchecked, cims respond to left off-ramps by everybody using the left lane exclusively instead of everybody avoiding it.

With regular roads, left turns also mess up the lane selection. Normally a 6-lane one-way road can be split between 3 2-lane one-way roads. Cims will get into either lane going their direction (depending on which lane they need to be in later down the road). However with TM active and DLS unchecked they will only take 1 of the 2.

Is there a way to use TM features with vanilla AI? Is this a bug? Is TM not meant to be played without DLS? If the last thing is true, can you add a warning message to the options menu?

I have the suspicion that just by being enabled the mod makes changes to the game even before you enable something. I made a save game of my city right before getting the mod and have loaded it many times while learning the ropes of TMPE and... I was just typing what I noticed which I now realize is the same thing that's been happening to you. Loading the save without being subscribed to the mod keeps vanilla AI intact, whereas if you load it with TMPE enabled but NO OTHER simulation/aAI option enabled, the clog in the left lane happens again and again.
Perhaps it doesn't break the AI exactly it's just that it might have to do some necessary tidying-up in the background just to be able to run and adjust from there.
EDIT: I also suspect (but haven't properly tested) that another indicator of the mod making adjustments you can't see is the overall traffic flow dropping when it's enabled.

I found this behaviour when doing research for a lane-usage guide. Since a lot of people use TM I wanted to show differences between dynamic lane usage and regular. Especially because some people turn it off for performance reasons. Was surprised to see this bug

Good to see somebody else noticed it. Hope the team can fix it some day.
