First of all, Rome II and Attila are different games. There was no Medieval mod for R2 so far with aim to create full Capmaign. And the fact is that Rome II has better and smoother (not laggy) engine compared to Attila.
Historical differences: no professional soldiery in 1100 AD, no corslets, pavizas, halberds. This mod has many other unique factions such as Byzantine Empire, Vikings, etc!
And the last thing, Rome II is 3 times more popular game in Steam than Attila. Just watch Steam stats! So why not just make great Medieval campaign for it?!

The main problem for 1100 AD was ancient temples and columns in cities' battles. But I managed to convert them into churches and towers, and all 4 types of cities became to look in Medieval style! You can see it on screenshots and check in custom battles!
1100 AD mod already has Medieval style unit icons and there will be no problem to replace Antique buildings and icons to Medieval ones!
