Submit your own Lore
Alas, the creative writing for making this mod took me a very long time - and I need your help to flesh out more characters! If you would like to submit lore please do so in this format.

Title: "Lore of the....[something to do with lord]"
Subtitle: [something loreworthy]
Region to trigger: [in game region name]
Description: [write your lore here, please do so in a similar format to that of the base mod for increased chance of inclusion.]

-I'll try to get your content in this mod, but reserve the right to say I may not depending on how busy I am.

If you are looking for materials to help with writing - hit me up on the C&C modding discord (same name) and I can send over a document with some possible lore histories.

NEWS JUST IN!
I'll be introducing a new type of event in the near future. "construction complete" events. These are lore events that are presented to the player once they complete a specific building for the first time. Although there is the potential to support a message for every building level in the game, I'd recommend you keep it to the final level of landmarks. message format:

Title: "Architecture of the....[faction who built it]"
Subtitle: [something loreworthy]
Building to trigger: [name of the building to trigger]
Description: [write your lore here, please do so in a similar format to that of the base mod for increased chance of inclusion.]

I would like to write some text for Durthu but not sure what regions could count.

Everqueen grove region is part of his lore for sure. Two things at least. The first time he met elves. And when he took humanoids to the Forest the first time.

Another region should be the Oak of Ages - but Oak lore is very unclear. I have a hypothesis that it is sentient being that could be considered a god - and that it created and creates treemen (dryads are another story).

Hey dude, feel free to hit me up on discord (in C&C modding discord as thesniperdevil) and I can send over some stuff to help you with Durthu.

Title:
Stories of the Defender of Ulthuan
Subtitle: Siege of the Holy Flame
Region: Shrine of Asuryan
Description:

How long has it been since he first stepped foot on this holy soil, Tyrion wondered? He and his brother were but boys then, being hunted by the vilest of the Dark Prince's servants- N'Kari, it was called. Two times he had faced it, and two times he lived to tell the tale. No elf save Aenarion himself could claim such a feat.

And much like Aenarion's sagas had started here, on the Island of Flame, so too did Tyrion's. Teclis had channeled the power of Asuryan himself, wielding and imbuing it within Tyrion's sword to banish the daemon hunting them. He now bore the arms and armour of the legendary Phoenix King, just as the Priests of Asuryan had foretold, all those years ago.

While Tyrion could still hear the call of the Widowmaker, lessened though it was, he simply knelt before the Fire of the Phoenix, and let the Lord of the Heavens wash his fears away.

Title:
Loremasters of Hoeth
Subtitle: The Gift of Magic
Region: Altdorf
Description:

It was after the fall of Kislev that Teclis first realised the need to help Mankind defeat the armies of Chaos, lest Mankind fail and the forces of Chaos come to the aid of the Dark Elves. He along with Yrtle and Finreir departed Lothern and travelled to the Old World.

Teclis' wise advice and mighty sorcery soon made him an invaluable counsellor to Magnus the Pious; and the simple battle spells he taught to the human hedge-wizards soon changed the course of the war. After the war Magnus requested the High Elf mages teach the full secrets of magic to men. It was Teclis himself who convinced Finreir of the need to help Mankind and together they set up the Colleges of Magic. Teclis here taught the first human students. The mind of Man was however inadequate to master all the eight Winds of Chaos, but, with care and study he believed humans were capable to contain the power of one of them. More than twenty years passed before he returned home. His time in the Old World left Teclis with a lasting fondness for the race of Men, and saw that in time it might far exceed the declining race of Elves.

END

.... and yet High Elf Mages do not know the 8 winds AHHH! ;)

scribe - thanks so much. I've already got lore for the shrine - do you think it is inadequate? JPW - this is great! When I get around to Teclis I'll use this for sure (credit ofc) although I'll need to tweak it slightly to be more first person, as if Teclis was reminising whislt walking the streets of Altdorf.

@thesniperdevil Oh damn, I thought the only lore you currently had was on Thorgrim, Vlad, and Tenny. Yeah, if you already have lore on the Shrine then I can definitely write something else up. I'll look through the mod pack and see which things you haven't done.

more of theses would be delightful, however i do not know warhammer lore very well, which is why i dled your mod.

Is there a list of all the lore you've written so I don't waste timing writing something you may have already done?

I see there is a list but it's just the titles and it's hard to tell what the stories actually are from just those.
IfThenOrElse  [developer] 1 Sep, 2019 @ 12:07pm
Are you able to open pack files? You can access the mod pack file and read all the text! I can get a look at adding a bit more detail on that list though.
i'm trying to come up with something for alberic but i'm not getting any ideas

That's why they call him "Alberic the Generic".

Okay, here's a little taste. If you like what you see I'll keep them coming:

Title: Stories of the Witch King
Subtitle: The Flames of Asuryan
Region to trigger: Eataine – Shrine of Asuryan
Description:

Malekith raised a heavy metal fist. “Halt.”

The vast host came to a halt at once. Hesitation to obey his commands was to court death, even at the best of times. Here, at the Shrine of Asuryan, it was tantamount to suicide.

It was here where he suffered his greatest defeat, his flesh stripped away in the burning judgment of the Flames of Asuryan. It was here where his charred, smoking body was carried to Nagarythe, and the Armour of Midnight fused directly onto his blackened flesh. It was here where the son of Aenarion died, and the Witch King was born.

“Draw your blades.” His mighty dragon, Seraphon, roared in triumph overhead. “At last, we take back what is mine.”

Title: Stories from the Solar City
Subtitle: Grim Prophecy
Region to trigger: The Forbidden Jungle – Chamber of Visions Landmark
Description:

No. Impossible.

Morrslieb, the sickly green moon, shatters into a thousand shards. A vast shockwave rips through the jungles of Lustria. At once Mazdamundi's mind is inundated with telepathic calls from his Slann brethren across the Geomantic Web. Commands are issued frantically back and forth, but there's no time. The sky is awash with meteors of colossal Warpstone hurtling toward the earth.

“Prime the Exodus Engines,” Mazdamundi intones. One by one the Lizardmen's immense temple cities break free from the earth, levitating into the sky. Using every fiber of his being, Mazdamundi fires blast after blast of Geomantic magics – blowing apart continent-sized meteors before they can strike Lustria. Dozens of Slann Mage-Priests commit their strength to the task – but the sheer enormity of the undertaking is too much even for them. One by one they slump unconscious upon their palanquins, until only Mazdamundi remains, blood running from his ears...

With a great gasp Mazdamundi rouses from his slumber, startling his chittery Skink attendants, who briefly scatter. With slow realisation he recalls he is in the Chamber of Visions, deep within the Forbidden Jungle. What did he just witness? A warning, or a prophecy...

I should add also my modus operandi will be perhaps different to what you're going for. I notice you have multiple events for a handful of characters. But I'm going to try and spread my work out across multiple characters - focusing on perhaps their most significant lore events first before spending time writing about lesser events or perhaps even just making some events up for fun (which will be necessary for several characters that are light on the lore or even lore non-existent like Cylostra Direfin).

I notice you have three events for the Shrine of Asruyan now, but I don't think this is a bad thing. It's inevitable that certain key locations are going to be important to multiple characters, each with their own stories to tell about what they were doing there. I plan to do multiple events for each faction for the Chamber of Visions as well, with each person who goes there seeing a different vision of their future from the End Times.

Can't thank you enough for this mod - this is gonna be a lot of fun and I hope you welcome my contributions!

These are great! Also multiple events for a single region is fine so long as they are on different characters! Tyrion will get his message pretty early on for example and will occur in most campaigns - but Malekith will get it much later in his campaign (if at all!)

Love this mod, great idea, I am going to try and contribute a little myself. If you like this I will try to do all of the Empire lords.

Title: "House of the Second Wilhelm"
Subtitle: A Play to Die For
Region to trigger: Karak Ziflin
Description:

The wind swept through the barren peaks, stinging Karl's face, but the wind could never hurt as much as the memories that this place brought unbidden to his mind.

The shattered, claw-like, remains of Castle Drachenfels loomed atop the peaks, but Karl saw them as he had so recently, when he rode with his entourage, his son Luitpold and his best friend, Prince Oswald von Konigswald of Ostland. Oswald had arranged to have the greatest playwright of the age, Detlef Sierck, compose and perform a play about Oswald's defeat of the Great Enchanter, Constant Drachenfels, here in what had once been the dread conjurer's home.

At the height of the climax of the play, the actor playing Drachenfels had transformed before their eyes into the new vessel of the dread sorceror, and Oswald, his dearest friend, had laid a dagger against his throat. It turned out Oswald had never slain the Great Enchanter, but instead had become his lackey in a complex scheme to rid the Empire of much of its ruling body in one fel swoop. The playwright and his leading lady, Genevieve Dieudonne, had cast down the monster, and Oswald had been dealt with. It was a grim reminder of just how far a man could fall, even those we thought the best of us.

Karl brushed at his cheeks, to warm them of course, and with a grim set to his jaw rode to give orders to his troops.

Title: "House of the Second Wilhelm"
Subtitle: The Doppleganger
Region to trigger: Altdorf
Description:

The spires of Altdorf could just be seen rising through the smog that filled the air, drifting up from chimneys at houses and establishments all over the city. It was at peace now, but so recently it had been otherwise. Just a short span of years ago the city had been in turmoil during the Window Tax Riots, in the last years of his father's reign. More recently than that it had been Karl himself who had been in grave danger. He shuddered a little at the memory.

Having just returned from a diplomatic mission to Talabheim and re-entered the palace, Karl had seen the most disturbing sight. An unnatural fog had permeated the city, freezing its citizens in place. The forces of Chaos had infiltrated the palace and captured him unawares. A Rat-man Grey Seer named Gaxar had created an exact likeness of Karl to replace him on the throne and pursue his own nefarious ends.

At that moment a band of adventurers stormed into the palace, laying waste to the forces of Chaos. One scarred and hard-bitten young man confronted the Grey Seer, calling upon the wrath of Sigmar. A massive statue of the first Emperor was struck by a bolt of lighting out of a stormless sky and crashed through the roof, smiting the Grey Seer. The spell was lifted, the Doppleganger collapsed, the citizens of Altdorf unfrozen. The Knights of the Order of the Fiery Heart charged into the palace, cutting down swarms of beastmen.

Karl remembered thanking the adventurers before his knights led him to safety, clad only in his unarmoured and unarmed as he had been. The adventurers had pursued the forces of the enemy into the bowels of Altdorf's sewers and catacombs, to what fate he did not know for certain, though it was rumoured the younger man had survived. Karl did not learn their names until later, but learn them he did, Wolfgang von Neuwald, the Wizard Litzenreich and the younger man, Konrad.

Title: "House of the Second Wilhelm"
Subtitle: Ambush in Reikwald Forest
Region to trigger: Eilhart
Description:

The trees loomed menacingly on either side of the roadway as Karl rode with his army. Though nowhere near as dangerous and foreboding as the Drakwald Forest, the Reikwald was not without its threats.

As an infant he had nearly died in these woods. His father, Emperor Luitpold I, had been riding with the Reiksguard and his family when they had been set upon by an ambushing horde of beastmen. Though they fought bravely, the knights were overwhelmed as three titanic Ghorgons had ripped through them.

Then the most unlikely of saviours had come to their aid. Asrai, Wood Elves, had emerged from the forest, evidently hunting down this party of beastmen, and unleashed a torrent of arrows that saw to the foul mutants in short order. Without a word, the Elves vanished as mysteriously as they had arrived. Such things may unnerve some, but gave hope to Karl Franz. For though evil lurked everywhere in this world, it was nice to know the Empire was not the only force to oppose it.

Title: "House of the Second Wilhelm"
Subtitle: Cleansing of Blood Keep
Region to trigger: Karak Azgaraz
Description:

Blood Keep.

The very name was enough to haunt the dreams of many Empire folk in the lands below. Karl himself had come closer to death here than anywhere else.

Though the scourge that was the fallen order of the Blood Knights had been ousted from the castle many years prior, something about the nature of the place attracted dark forces to it still. Karl had led the attack atop his beloved mount Deathclaw. A gift from the Asrai, the Wood Elves, not long after his coronation. Having raised Deathclaw himself, Karl and the Griffon were inseparable.

When the battle went poorly, and Karl was gravely wounded, he winced at the memory of the pain, Deathclaw had stood over him for three hours, keeping the foe at bay until the Reiksguard had been able to reach him.

Title: "House of the Second Wilhelm"
Subtitle: The Battle of Hauptmansburg
Region to trigger: Pfeildorf
Description:

To the south rose the peaks of the Black Mountains. Always from this direction the Greenskin menace came. Karl frowned. Gorbad Ironclaw, Grom the Paunch, so many warlords bent on destruction in the lands of men. Some years ago Karl had campaigned in the foothills of these mountains to drive back the marauding green hordes. He had not been crowned Emperor yet, had not been given Deathclaw yet. At the time he rode a noble pegasus named 'Northwind'.

The army of greenskins with its trolls and orcs and goblins, led by a warboss mounted on a fearsome Wyvern, had eagerly charged towards his waiting army. Disciplined ranks of footsoldiers braced for the impact. Batteries of cannon and Tilean mercenary crossbowmen scythed down ranks of orcs. Kislevite horse archers harried the enemy and ranks of Knights Panther and Knights of the White Wolf, together with flagellents slammed into their flanks.

Karl's cannon had just won the artillery duel when the orc warlord charged in amongst them, silencing the big guns. One man stood against the orc and his Wyvern, bravely holding his sword before him in defiance. At that moment, Karl smiled fondly to remember, he swooped down out of the sky like a thunderbolt, slaying the orc chieftain and driving the Wyvern away.

"That was the bravest thing I've ever seen." Karl told the man.

"It was nothing." said the man, before fainting straight away.

Karl often wondered if he would ever meet Felix Jaeger, or his slayer companion, Gotrek, again.

Title: "House of the Second Wilhelm"
Subtitle: A Duke's Ransom
Region to trigger: Marienburg
Description:

Marienburg, greatest trading city in the Old World, and spot of wounded pride for the Empire in general, and Karl Franz's family in particular. After Emperor Dieter IV was bribed into allowing Marienburg its independence, Karl's ancestor Wilhelm the Wise had failed to retake the city, defeated at the Battle of Grootscher Marsh. Wilhelm had been forced to officially recognise the independence of Marienburg and it had always been too costly to invest in a venture to retake the city since. It wasn't just the cost of the expedition, but the loss of trade income that would result for the duration of an armed conflict with Marienburg, which by virtue of its position controlled the access of many provinces to the sea.

In the last years of Karl's father's reign, the Emperor Luitpold I, Karl's family had gained a measure of revenge however. A famous Norse raider by the name of Erik Redaxe received word that the Marienburg fleet, under the command of Duke Guy du Lac, planned to ambush him on his return journey to Norsca. Erik decided to go on the offensive and launched a night raid on Marienburg, burning much of its fleet and capturing Guy.

In a brilliant move, Erik ransomed Guy not to Marienburg, but to Karl's father, giving him leverage over Marienburg, and the ransom was not for money, but for food and supplies, making Erik an even greater hero in the barren lands of the north.
