Perhaps, and I don't know how hard this is or if you might even have it already, but have a way for the states to be able to participate in elections if your one of those types of succession types

How do you mean? As in you have an election for the dependency on the death of the current ruler?
I assume they mean that if you have an elective succession type, these autonomous dependents get a vote in your election the same way your vassals do. Though I think if they're de jure vassals of your title, they already would.
Lewa is saying what I want, and I know if they are de jure vassals they will but it takes a while for that to happen

I could theoretically add them as "de-jure" lands after their release if they're not already de-jure. Won't make much sense historically speaking. :P Maybe I can add an option at the start of the game.
That would be nice
It would be interesting to see these "dependencies" split off from your empire involuntarily. If they were large enough and you had certain laws (like full council power or something), then vassals would start splitting off like that starting from the farthest away to your capital to the nearest.

Then there could be some kind of method to bring them back into the fold once you regain your power, and whatnot. The Holy Roman Empire could maybe have a specific chain of events to have all their vassals split off like that over time.

That's an interesting idea, and it could certainly be implemented. Currently they can either declare war, or if the realm changes the dependencies automatically become independent. I'll see what I can do.
Maybe if you were a powerful empire like the byzantines you should be able invite nomads and tribes to settle in your lands. You could give them a duchy and they would gain the dependency status. They could serve as buffer States.
One suggestion I have, and i don't know how you would implement this but you could have where when your centralization becomes very low a vassal that is either a different culture, religion, or just doesn't like his liege can go from being a vassal to a dependent state as a way of shattering realms but keeping the title alive. For example it would be like the byzantine emperor losing a massive civil war and all his vassals (duke and above) became dependent states and thus the authority of the emperor would extend only beyond the walls of constantinople.

That's a pretty good idea, and something I've been considering the logic of for a while. I'll have to plot out how exactly the logic would work when it comes to writing the conditions in ck2 mod files, but I'll see what I can do. +1
Hey!

I think it would be pretty cool if we could give lands/titles to our co-dependent states as a suzerain. Would this be hard to do?
Is it possible you could make it so your dependent states couldn't declare on eachother, or at least so that you don't get called into wars they're having with eachother like you don't get called into vassel wars.

I can upload a variant with wars disabled if you'd like? Also, it's your prerogative if you want to intervene or not. They don't break away or anything if you don't (Against other dependencies that is) I'm just about to update the mod anyway.
