Please post ideas for new competitions here so they will not get mixed up with various other comments.

Edit 1.03. What is possible.

Unfortunately scores do not use modifiers, only database fields. In other words - categories that the scoring can be based off are coded internally and limited.
There are now:
- Doing a Project -> can create projects activated only for a specific emeregency
- Building Buildings and Districts
- Generating GP points
- Generating Favors
- CO2 footprint - used by Climate Accords

Not sure what it does, needs trials:
- KilledEnemyUnit / MilitaryInEnemyTerritory / ReligiousInEnemyTerritory - used in military emergencies
- SpreadReligion / ReligionAttackedEnemy / ReligiousUnitsInEnemyTerritory - not used at all

So, can't "score" yields like gold or food, can't score population, etc. :(

In terms of Rewards, it is much better as they use modifiers. So, virtually anythnig that game supports is possible here.

Economic could probably be based on gold output over a series of turn. Or the greatest amount of gold given/received in trade deals over a series of turns.

Medicine could be related to growth, where you're rated on overall population growth within a certain time frame.

Economic I would go with Waffles' which was posted in the comments, but also add on trade routes running.

Medicine would be food produced, housing and maybe Science?

1st Place: 20% Growth in all cities. Additional Housing or other yields towards sewers.

2nd Place: Eureka and Science Buildings provide Housing

3rd Place: All cities are provided with +2 Housing

You could change these around of course

Chemistry:

Science, Great Scientist Points, Eureka earned (give out +10 score or something similar?)

1st Place: Great Scientist, +2 New Techs and gain Science when getting a eurkea

2nd Place: +2 Eurekas and Science Buildings cost one less Gold to maintain

3rd Place: +1 Eureka and Bunch of Great Scientist Points

Just nitpicking, but the peace prize is actually awarded by Norway, not Sweden.

honestly, I'd rather have them included in existing prices so that the prizes themselves do not become too specific and hinder actual competition taking place. Leading in one particular GP category already rewards those GP.

Chemistry and medicine could just be flavor variants of the physics prize. Economics technically isn't a Nobel Prize anyway.

Since the competitions are now universal and no longer Sweden-specific, I think it would be more interesting to look at other awards: Fields Medal, Oscars, etc.

Or those could be alternative names for the competitions whenever Sweden is not in the game.

Literature Nobel Prize becomes the Oscars. Physics Nobel Prize becomes the Fields Medal. Peace Nobel Prize becomes a competition for Secretary General.

I like the idea of renaming them if sweden isn't in the game.
