I guess the reason is because you are using BETA version of Slay the Spire. It should work in normal Slay the Spire (01-23-2019 version).

It's always worked before with the beta version.

You know, beta version can be patched frequently without any patch note. Maybe in the recent version there can be a code that is not compatible with current mods. Anyway, it seems the error is not specific to The Cursed, so I don't know the correct reason for this error.
I recommend to report this problem to Megacrit.
