Zhang Shun's one, for example, puts you, an archer, against someone who is about 15 steps away, moves faster, has a shield, has better proficiencies, can kill you in 1 hit, and whose weapon can crush blocks.
When I'm using Zhang Shun make sure you get a head shot for your shooting (when Li Kui is close enough to you to pose an attacking position, aim above his head. It will deal around 150 damage) and then switch to sword and keep repeating what mentioned above. It is effective to go right attacking with your sword.
As for faceless, do what mentioned above and when he is down (when hit in the face) go for straight attack while going forward (as if you're with your mount) on his face. This move will deal around 100s damage).
As for others, if your hero started mounted, then make sure to keep him mounted until the end. When your horse die, my experience told me you've failed. Except if it is a 1 vs 1, especially when you're using Shu generals (mounted with trash armor and weapon). Steal some charged attack (and try to attack to the face, it'll give you more damage) until you killed your enemy horse then dismount yourself (especially if your enemy has ranged weapon). Make sure to stick to the enemy so he don't use his ranged weapon, because your shield-less. You could use Li Kui tactic too.
If you're fighting a group when mounted, then first you should kill enemy with lance, enemy horses, and archers. When you get your lance and all enemy archer defeated then it's easy win.
If you started as a horse archer (mainly for Zhao general with 3 horse archer enemies with better melee weapon then you) then I suggest you to switch to your melee weapon and kill all your enemy horses. If you're lucky and managed to kill an enemy who is using his melee weapon then grab it and fight the rest of your enemy melee. If not, then keep your range and kill your enemy while moving (move while waiting until all enemy shoot their arrow, then stop, don't wait until your marker fully focused, shoot your arrow, repeat).
If you're fighting a group while dismounted, then the tips is to not make your mounted enemy dismounted. Kill all the dismounted enemy first, then dismount your mounted one by one after defeating each.
If you're fighting a bunch of dismounted enemies while dismounted, the tips is to choose to go right/left depending which side do not have the OP enemy (no weak enemy sadly..). This will make the strong enemy can't attack you directly and give you time to defeat weaker enemies first.
I managed to clear all the quest with this and many repeats. Good luck.
The first mission will need you to defeat all people in the bar. Second battle will need you to find 7 chests (one is in the store, one in stable, and a bush near it, three is around another bushes, and one just below the bridge near the town gate. No matter which one you choose, the last one will give you the item, then get out from the town through the gate and get the yellow flag. You don't have to defeat all the enemies, just grab the flag). The third battle is a skirmish. Switch to easiest mode if you're lazy coz you'll only need to defeat the enemy general and your troops will finish the rest of the enemies. The fourth battle is a castle attack. As Sirrama99 said, just defeat the guy next to the prison (general with a staff) then open the gate and you'll be guaranteed victory. The tips is to go to the building roof through the castle wall and go down from there directly in front of the general and defeat him with around 3 hits.
Anyone has a list of the mind reading rewards? (looking for great lance and horse)
Pardon, sorry for late reply, but the Hero of the Dajin, his title is, "Arrow Across the Cloud." He will give you a crazy good lance, and a crazy good horse too when you get the rewards for defeating him.
If you spam block but don't actually block his attacks, you'll get into a dance off where the guy keeps changing up his strikes. You basically have to constantly hammer the guy and keep beating him to the punch, hitting him over and over again until he dies.
These lords often have really weak head armor, by the way.
At the end, when the final enemy spawns, his men will infinitely respawn until you kill him, so ignore everyone else in favor of taking him down.
