summoning them costs 10 nightmare fuel, and a telelocator staff. after setting the summon point, you'll be taken to the standard character select screen, where you can select which character you want to summon.

they have only their character items (such as willow's lighter, or wes' ballons) and will use them freely, unless the item drains sanity, at which point they'll only use it in combat. (except for wes, who will kill himself after awhile due to the baloons, either through creating too many and going insane, or setting them off and blowing himself up. or maxwell, who is dapper enough to use his codex at any time as long as he has >50% sanity)

summoning will even work with DLC and workshop characters, (e.g. webber [DLC] or solyz [workshop])

if their character item has limited durability, they'll try to make a new one when the old one gets to <25% durability, then use up the old one (unless that item requires prototyping first, then they'll just follow you untill you prototype it, then they can make it at any time).

any items they pick up that are not either their character items, or the items needed to make one will automaticly be given to the player when they get the chance. (unless they need said items, like food when they're hungry, or armor when wolves are imminent) but the player can also equip other items on them at any time (this part will be compatible with "RPG HUD" addon) and they'll automaticly equip the best item for the job (fishing rods aren't as good as thulecite clubs)
